December 2010
Hello! I'm assuming you've popped over from the English Wikipedia, so you're probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay on! Here's a few links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- The help desk, reference desk and village pump- in one page
- How to copy from English Wikipedia
- A very incomplete list of our active editors
There's plenty to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that don't exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you'd like to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need a hand. Kansan (talk) 21:49, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

- ok, no need to be sorry at all ;), just checking with you, be bold & happy editing ;o) --Dalibor Bosits © 22:29, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much Toboar (talk) 22:30, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but an article you created was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that, as such articles are usually too complex and may have templates that do not exist here. Thank you. Kansan (talk) 16:13, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Warnings
Be careful that you're warning the right users. The IP vandalized JohnCD's talk page, but you gave the warning to JohnCD instead of the IP who did it. Thanks, Kansan (talk) 17:39, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh whoops I'm sorry. I'll be more careful and say sorry to poor Mr. JohnCD. Thanks for the heads up. Toboar (talk) 17:41, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Yes, that 's now true! Mr. JohnCD? Have you got used to my name?! Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 17:56, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
That too. But I fixed it. By the way if we get too used to JohnCD's name then you would be Berty, but that sounds weird. Toboar (talk) 17:59, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds OK to me. Still like Mr. Berty more. Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 18:19, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Me too, it sounds better. Toboar (talk) 18:20, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

- As above to the first message, that was not a test. It was vandalism. Make sure you know the difference between them. Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 16:31, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I just thought it sounded more like I was assuming good faith for his first act of vandalism. If it happens again I will put the vandalism warning on his page. Thanks Toboar (talk) 16:38, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
OK. Fine. Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 16:39, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hi Toboar! I notice that you have been working on vandalism, and fixed some on the page River. I have to warn you to be more vigilant. The person whose vandalism you had reverted had made about six separate saves of vandalism. You corrected only the last one. They then came back and made four more, and the next editor corrected those, back to your save. That left five items of vandalism not only remaining, but buried under two subsequent reversions.
In the case of this sort of vandalism which, being vulgar, is very obvious, and will be picked up by the next reader, one can be sure that the problem will be spotted. But in other cases, say when a vandal deletes two or three paragraphs and saves the deletions separately, if you don't catch them all in one hit, then it can be days, or even years before someone who knows the article well, comes back and says "hey, something is seriously missing".
The message is, when you revert, don't ever leave the page without looking at the history and checking back to the last really secure and trustworthy edit. Otherwise your well-meaning reversion can cause more trouble than it's worth. Amandajm (talk) 01:01, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Teletubbies needs fixing
I'm leaving it to you, so that you can see the problem. Amandajm (talk) 01:12, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Being saved
Even though you aren't supposed to have off-topic discussions on user talk pages, I will here because you don't have a written email address. Feel free to email me and continue the conversation. Here is the story.
- I believe that God created man with the choice of good or bad. Man chose bad.
- Man needs punishment for his bad deeds. He violated a fixed set of rules. It is not God's fault that we do not keep the rules.
- God in his love provided a way for us to still go to heaven without being punished for our bad deeds, which is what hell is for.
- As man makes a choice to do good or bad, man also makes a choice to accept that way or go to hell.
- People don't accept this for two main reasons: They believe that man is the product of evolution and is not accountable for his actions, or they believe that man is good enough to keep the rules and go to heaven.
This is a general overview. There are more individual points. You can special:emailuser/Chemicalinterest if you want to have an in-depth discussion.
Thanks, --Chemicalinterest (talk) 22:10, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
RfA
I suggest you stop spamming other people's talk pages woth your RfA, otherwise it may results in a block. -Barras (talk) 22:54, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
I was just doing it with certain people I knowToboar (talk) 00:25, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm glad that you've gotten involved with fighting vandalism and getting right into the community, but as you've seen, it generally takes time for the community to get to know you before they feel you're ready for adminship. Don't feel bad about it, though! Not being an administrator doesn't mean that you're any less of an editor here. Some of our best, longtime editors here aren't admins. It doesn't mean you're a "better" editor, it just means you have access to a few more tools. Keep at what you're doing! Kansan (talk) 19:46, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Block?
How was I blocked?!?!?
Blocked
Hello! I've just blocked you for abusing one or more accounts. I've the technical proof that you are the same person as the vandal that just appeared and on whose user talk you have commented. It's really sad that someone who seemed to be willing to help is doing the vandalism themselves. -Barras (talk) 21:13, 16 December 2010 (UTC) I didnt do it! I promise! Toboar (talk) 21:14, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- First, please read WP:Checkuser. Barras, did Toboar make any bad changes that s/he deserves a block? --Chemicalinterest (talk) 21:17, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- And I've the technical proof that you used the same IP address as the two other accounts I blocked and the same computer. But you are free to get this blocked reviewed of course... -Barras (talk) 21:18, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I am at a school IP right now maybe thats why but I didnt abuse accounts or vandalise Toboar (talk) 21:20, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- Please use {{unblock}} and make an official unblock request. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 21:21, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- Come on. Release him. Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 21:27, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey thanks for supporting me Mr. Berty it means alot Toboar (talk) 21:58, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- Toboar, when you commented there, were you aware that the accounts were from the same network? -- Mentifisto 23:21, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
No I just commented because they vandalised my page Toboar (talk) 00:50, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- I've seen enough of this guy to know that he is not lying. It probably is a school IP, I've seen it happen to some of my friends' accounts a few times. I was going to vote for him for adminship, because I, as stated before, have seen enough of him to know that he deserves it. I know that he would not vandalize Wikipedia.
