I am quite new to Simple Wikipedia but I have already looked at the most common topics list of articles to be included on all Wikipedias. I made a few articles that were missing including Empire State Building and St. Peter's Basilica. If you wouldn't mind having a look at my edit history, checking these articles and giving me a few tips I would be very happy.

Brilliant! Feel free to copy paste it onto your userpage so you don't have to come back to mine every time you want to check your (many, many) edits.
I'm very impressed! Try to keep your edits regular though. If you make 4000+ one month, then 100+ the next, you might not be nominated to become an administrator. That's why I refused, because of my erratic editing. Look at Creol or Archer7. They edit regularly and I think they're both bureaucrats; which isn't a coincidence.

He's still very respected here, which is partially because he edits here regularly and welcomes people, so everyone knows him. He's also very helpful in his edits. So far you fill both categories but time will tell if you start to waver from here.

As long as you don't push yourself to reach a certain deadline every month. It takes the fun out of editing and means that wikipedia becomes more of a chore than something fun and informative to do.

Interesting. I guess it's to avoid lawsuits and such from underaged people invading the privacy of others.. It's a pity we can't trust people just because they're under 18.

I'd love to! But I'd like to know if people mind that I'm still at school and will almost definitely edit irregularly. You can see that I went 2 months without editing due to my IGCSE timetable.

Yup, until the 7th of January I'm free to edit away here on Simple. But my teachers are ruthless and have given me homework, which is why I'm not editing right now. But I should be done in the next 2 or 3 days with it.

Check out his userpage. He obviously edits a lot at en wiki, and if he doesn't plan on contributing here, why would me make a userpage?
Even if he never makes a single edit, no harm done. It's not like the wikimedia servers are straining at the moment and it's an act of random kindness that may be appreciated and may not.
Yes, I plan to edit a little here, and I really do appreciate the welcome messages, thank you. I was also trying to get some support for this proposal (see the sidebar) which aims to have a simple:en link on en:Wikipedia articles. If you think this is a good idea, support is need at the village pump, as the original time I proposed it, the idea got shot down. Hidden among the Basque and Gothic article links though, someone who goes onto En Wiki usually speaks English, not necessarily Basque or Gothic. But it's true, it does have one.. and it would be SO much work to add the template to every page :s
Yeah, but no kid in the right mind is ever going to know that link exists. Come on, having a 5 year old search through an alphabetical list of languages, half expecting it to be their is rediculus. Wouldn't you say? I would of never known to find a Simple link in the other languages tab. Hey! 13,898 and counting people have managed to find and make accounts on Simple! It may be small, much smaller than the other wikipedias, but it certainly isn't useless.
Yeah, but the average kid should be able to know of its existence, if we have that small mod to the sidebar, 13,000 could be up to a million, almost as much as the original english Wikipedia. And that's 13,000 editors, not readers :)-- penubag 22:38, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, I won't hold a grudge, you are right. But that doesn't justify your saying that Simple Wikipedia was useless..

I support it! Can I vote or something? I really really hope simple wikipedia becomes more popular... it seems like a good idea, but no one seems to have heard of it. I can honestly say that I have only ever come across two people (outside simple wikipedia itself) that appear to have ever known about simple wikipedia.
