The QandA. Every month, Kennedy interviewed one of the Simple English Wikipedia's editors, asking them about themselves, and their opinions on Wikipedia. It was an exciting insight behind the anonymous face of an online username. Unfortunately, Kennedy has left us, and will obviously not be doing the QandA. Bluegoblin7 has taken it over.
The Commanders's Choice. For every edition, Yotcmdr will be chosing articles that need creating, expanding or being attended to. Here is this edition's list:

On that note, please do continue to submit articles, QandAs and the like. You may have noticed that recent Issues have been fairly bare - and the only way that will change will be with your help.

Hello Gwib. I linked to your talk page from http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Making_a_signature and followed each of its steps. The last step however is a tad unclear (or perhaps I am not reading it properly) as to what, in the My Settings field for 'new signature,' I put after the forward slash. Either, "/sig2" or, "Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2" "User:Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2" or other?
I think this is where my problem lies. Either way, my customized signature is not working. It works on my subpage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2) but is not showing up when I put the four tildes and sign my posts. There seems to be two areas that I need to update after making a subpage (My preferences: where I have intentionally left the user field empty) and (My settings: where I have input the tag -> {{subst:User:(Skychildandsonofthesun)/(User:Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2)}} ) but it does not seem to work. As mentioned, I think it is to do with what I put after the forward slash. Do you know what I am doing wrong or where I can get someone to help me sort this out.
Furthermore, the difference between My Settings (on simple.wikipedia) and My Preferences (on en.wikipedia) seems to have something to do with my problem.
For a signature on this Wikipedia, you will need to create a signature page here, on simplewiki. Copy the code from your sig page on enwiki, and create a page here with it. Then put User:Skychildandsonofthesun/sig2 into the Nickname box in My Settings. Make sure the wikitext box is checked (just below the text box). This should then work. Any luck? - tholly--Talk--12:44, 22 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have built an updated timebox userbox. It is built from {{User:Gwib/timebox}}, but has some expanded functionality. You can find this userbox at {{User timebox2}}.

The page you wrote, Ashoka, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Minorax (talk) 14:28, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Gwib,
I'm reaching out to you because I am working on a research project on simplification and am looking to collaborate with domain experts.
A quick introduction: I am a researcher interested in text simplification and am working towards publishing a resource in text simplification based on Simple Wikipedia (quite a rich encyclopedia). We believe this resource, which we will make public, could be valuable to educate and increasing awareness of text simplification.
Some colleagues and I are looking to collaborate with domain experts in the creation of the resource. We've secured some budget for our research project, so there's the possibility to remunerate a few experts that would work with us.
I do not mean to spam you, so feel free to disregard/delete if you feel this is inappropriate (and I apologize). On the other hand, if you are interested, please feel free to reach out, either directly on Wikipedia or by email (phillab@berkeley.edu) and I would be happy to tell you more.
Thank you, and sorry again if you feel this is inappropriate,
