Slipknot1 change

Slipknot1 (talk · contribs)

End date: 18:54, 4 March 2010

I would like to be granted the import tool so that I can import necessary pages from the English Wikipedia for article work. I have been editing here for a long time and have considerable knowledge of the tool. Regards, —§ stay (sic)! 18:54, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Optional Questions change

Q: What are your current plans for the use of this tool? NonvocalScream (talk) 17:56, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A: I have worked in creating and expanding weather-related articles in addition to briefly working on this article. With the tool, I might continue working on weather-related articles and anything else that may come up on my todo. —§ stay (sic)! 18:39, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  2. At the rate we are going, a lot of people are going to have this tool. The more articles the better I guess.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 19:02, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    My thoughts exactly. fr33kman 19:11, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Per Gordon; the more the merrier. :) Lauryn (utc) 19:14, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  4. The tool is a very good help to those who work in translations. The more willing to use it and expand simple the better. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:35, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  5. I don't see why not :-) Classical Esther 02:22, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  6. No probs. Maybe it would be nice if we could let 'crats handle flagging users as transwiki? Pmlineditor  10:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    Not a bad idea! fr33kman 14:52, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Article work justifies this tool.–Juliancolton | Talk 16:37, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  8. I support anything that can help improving simple wikipedia.--Sinbad (talk) 13:58, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am very pro-importer. What's the risk? If he does something wrong, it can be reverted. Kansan (talk) 20:57, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have you tried it? It took scream hours to fix one bad import he made. Imagine several. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh dear God yes, it was hell. I even had to get outside help. NonvocalScream (talk) 21:08, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I never made an import action during my entire time here at simplewp. Are you refering to me or someone else? —§ stay (sic)! 21:52, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    I was referring to NonvocalScream. Griffinofwales (talk) 21:53, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  9. Support: no concerns here. Airplaneman talk 01:31, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose change

  1. Where is the article work? IMO you haven't yet shown a need for the tool. Griffinofwales (talk) 14:34, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is major history here that is long before your time, but suffice to say that Snake more than qualifies for importer! fr33kman 15:58, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right. There's something wrong if it happened before my time. Does he need it any more? He's not very active in article space (I count 2 articles this month). Griffinofwales (talk) 17:33, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Can't help but agree with Griffen. We wouldn't give rollback to someone not currently fighting vandalism. Why would we give importer to someone not currently working on articles? -DJSasso (talk) 17:53, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Great contributer! However, there is no firm commitment or task in mind that I can tell with the proposed use of this tool. In the future, develop a task. Best! NonvocalScream (talk) 18:59, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right now I'm thinking on continuing to work on articles related to 2009 AHS. Simplewp could use more articles related to weather. However it takes time to form a task, especially on a busy schedule. —§ stay (sic)! 19:08, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, form one... than come back. No issues here. You won't be using the tool without a plan, so it makes no difference if you don't get it not, versus getting it after you have a plan. I'm not too keen on just giving the flag to have it sit. Best! NonvocalScream (talk) 19:09, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Agree with Nonvocal Scream and Griffinofwales... Slipknot1 is not being very active these days. I rarely see his name in the New Changes list. :( Sorry, Slipknot1, but not yet.... Try to be more active and we'll think about it. Belinda 08:49, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    Any reason for opposing? —§ stay (sic)! 20:48, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Oppose No clear task set out here. Either way (talk) 02:13, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
