I noticed your signature had some red flags on it so I figured I'd rework it... Then I clicked publish and realized I wasn't done.... So... nevermind. HAHA! Operator873talkconnect 05:16, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

How do I make small floating texts like the "Connect" or "Talk"? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 18:16, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think you add < sup > and </ sup > (remove spaces) either side of the text. At least, if I understand what you are trying to do! --Yottie =talk= 19:23, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

French autoroutes change

I noticed from your babel that you speak French fluently. Perhaps you can help me find some sources for basic info about the four I have created so far. Thanks, IWI (chat) 23:50, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@ImprovedWikiImprovment: Yes, of course. I will have a look. --Yottie =talk= 10:53, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello change

Hello, I was wondering, some articles are on the English wiki but not here, can someone write an article from the en wiki using the same references but different words. Synoman Barris (talk) 11:12, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Synoman Barris: Hello, Yes, as long as the references are correct, you can reuse them. As long as you simplify the article, and attribute the article correctly, it should be fine! Happy editing! --Yottie =talk= 13:58, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Big weekend change

Thanks for organizing the new one! I'd been thinking it would be good to have another one, and you picked a good topic. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:50, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6: You're welcome! I thought it might be good fun, and references worked well last time. I'm surprised there haven't been any Big Weekends since the last one we did in 2016. Feel free to join in (and sign up on the Big Weekend talk page, if you would like). --Yottie =talk= 09:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'll try to participate, but maybe not as much as in previous years. A couple of years ago I started having trouble with my eyes, and sometimes it's hard to work on the computer for very long at a time. --Auntof6 (talk) 00:02, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Auntof6: I'm sorry to hear that. Even if it's just one edit, it will be more than welcome! --Yottie =talk= 06:50, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
So far it's more work than I expected but I like it well enough. Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:08, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Darkfrog24: You're doing a great job! Thank you very much for your help. We've already made good progress! --Yottie =talk= 06:45, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cluebot Archives change

Hi! I'm trying to get this bot to work on my Archives, but for some reason, it's causing a red error on my talk page and I couldn't seem to get it to work. If through my persistent attempts and it still doesn't work, would you mind if I copy your code? — Infogapp1 (talk) 12:31, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Infogapp1: Hi! I wasn't aware I had any code to copy from! But by all means, if you find anything you need, go ahead. --Yottie =talk= 12:34, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, what's the best way to tag or fix many citation issues in this article? It's my first time encountering so many citation issues in red, so I wasn't sure what to do about it. Many thanks. — Infogapp1 (talk) 21:11, 17 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Infogapp1: Thanks for your message. Wow, that's a lot of issues! They all look pretty similar, though. It seems to be that they are using this (list defined references). I wonder whether the actual reference is missing (for example, it might have been omitted when the article was copied over and adapted from enwp or dewp (German wiki)). I'm on mobile right now, so it's not super convenient, but your best bet might be to look on one of those two wikis (probably German, given the refs seem to be in German) and see if you can find the references that those LDRs correspond to. I hope that helps a little! As for tagging, if you'd rather do that, you could use the "Article issues" template, or possibly the "citation style" template. If not, Category:Cleanup templates is a good place to look! Yottie =talk= 21:28, 17 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much. I'll look into the sources and see what I can do. Thanks for the tips. — Infogapp1 (talk) 21:30, 17 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for taking the time to collate the statistics for this BW. Let me know if I can help with the numbers in future; Research:Quarry might be able to assist with the tedious counting. Chenzw  Talk  12:18, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Chenzw: Thank you very much. That sounds like a much better idea than setting RC to 5000 edits and filtering through them manually! Thank you for taking part, your edits were much appreciated. --Yottie =talk= 12:22, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Well done for getting it organized, I was computerless for the weekend so only got a couple of edits in, Peterdownunder (talk) 13:16, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Big Weekend change

I feel we should bring this on wiki. It will have to be the weekend of the 15th, as I will be in Wales with patchy internet from this Sunday for a week. I obviously don't have much experience in Big Weekends and could use your help in planning this. I think it should be World Heritage Sites and National Parks, the same as back in 2012. There are many missing articles and the list articles are outdated. I'll ping Macdonald-ross and Auntof6 here as we had discussed this on Macdonald-ross' talk page previously. IWI (chat) 00:19, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@ImprovedWikiImprovment: That sounds good! I'm happy to help co-ordinate. I'll draw up some details this evening and maybe we can have a chat about it soon on IRC. --Yottie =talk= 06:38, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. I will be free all week to talk it through :) Thanks for the help. IWI (chat) 12:59, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Spanish Grand Prix change

Hi, hope you are having a great weekend. I had to undo the edits by anon IP to this article because as per this diff, the editor has been removing a huge chunk of information present in the previous version. Let me know if you noticed anything that I may have missed though :) — Infogapp1 (talk) 18:49, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

what's wrong with contractions change

Why does Weren't get changed to were not or they're get changed to they are? Can you clarify that, Yottie? Angela Kate Maureen 04:12, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tropical Storm Angela: Hi Angela, Thanks for your question. These changes are made per the Manual of Style for Simple English Wikipedia. The main reason is that the full form (without a contraction) is simpler. You can find further details on the MOS page.--Yottie =talk= 12:48, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

For your extremely important work in reviews change

  The Barnstar of Diligence
For your extremely in-depth and hyper-specific reviews of Lawrence, Kansas, Lawrence massacre, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and any others I may have missed, I am awarding you this barnstar. Those types of reviews are time-consuming and tiring, but they are some of the most important work to do for promoting articles. Thank you for doing them and helping clear the backlog. ~Junedude433talk 14:45, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Junedude433: Thank you very much indeed for this. I'm glad you found the reviews helpful. I'll be on hand to provide more as more articles are nominated! --Yottie =talk= 18:07, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Big Weekend Conclusion change

What an amazing leader! change

The "What a Brilliant Idea!" Barnstar
I watched with awe and admiration how you helped shape Lawrence, Kansas. No mean feat! I also appreciate how much dedication you put into BWE. It was such a great team building activity. You are always a joy to collaborate and interact with. Thank you!! - Infogapp1 (talk) 14:35, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Infogapp1: Thank you very much for this. Your kind words mean a lot to me. I'm glad you thought my review of Lawrence, Kansas was helpful! And I hope we can keep the Big Weekends going - feel free to suggest a topic of interest. I'm always happy to coordinate, if that helps. --Yottie =talk= 14:44, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Possible next Big Weekend? change

I know this is a bit early, but I think it would be good to plan another one. Do you have any ideas for subjects? --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | see my enwiki profile) 15:29, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@SithJarJar666: Thanks for your message. There are plenty of good topics out there. Feel free to suggest one, if you would like! For example, we could do a Big Nations Weekend (or Big Countries Weekend), to help improve articles about countries of the world. Or we could do a Big Animal Weekend, to help improve articles about animals! Any more ideas? --Yottie =talk= 16:10, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. I was thinking we could maybe do something like a Big De-Stubbing Weekend, where we try and expand stub articles? Just my $0.02 here. --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | see my enwiki profile) 18:27, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SithJarJar666: Why not! Feel free to suggest it on the WT:WEEKEND page! --Yottie =talk= 18:31, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Big Weekend change

I did like doing Big Weekend, but I imagine they're a bit of work to organize. I'm thinking of organizing one myself or at least watching you closely next time you do it. You know the old saying, "If you want it done now, do it yourself, but if you want it done right, check out someone who's already done it without falling face-first into their cousin's wedding cake." Darkfrog24 (talk) 14:16, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would be happy to help if you have an idea! I've not been active due to personal reasons, but I'm sure I can find some time for a Big Weekend! Yottie =talk= 13:15, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

RfD nomination of 12 Inch Records change

An editor has requested deletion of 12 Inch Records, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/12 Inch Records and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Helping with a research project in Simplification change

Hello Eliot,

I'm reaching out to you because I am working on a research project on simplification and am looking to collaborate with domain experts.

A quick introduction: I am a researcher interested in text simplification and am working towards publishing a resource in text simplification based on Simple Wikipedia (quite a rich encyclopedia). We believe this resource, which we will make public, could be valuable to educate and increasing awareness of text simplification.

Some colleagues and I are looking to collaborate with domain experts in the creation of the resource. We've secured some budget for our research project, so there's the possibility to remunerate a few experts that would work with us.

I do not mean to spam you, so feel free to disregard/delete if you feel this is inappropriate (and I apologize). On the other hand, if you are interested, please feel free to reach out, either directly on Wikipedia or by email (phillab@berkeley.edu) and I would be happy to tell you more.

Thank you, and sorry again if you feel this is inappropriate,

Philippe Laban
