RollBack Request change

I have granted your request for Rollback privileges. Seeing you are already an Admin on 2 other projects and have the right on another, I am sure you know when to use them appropriately. Thank you for your interest in our project, may you find yourself at home here as you have on SCO & Data. Enfcer (talk) 05:30, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Attribution change

Hi, I noticed that you directly copied {{User blank}} from English Wikipedia without attribution. When pages from other wikis are directly copied and pasted, please make sure that attribution is provided. See WP:TA for details. Regards, --Glaisher [talk] 09:38, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ok, in the future I'll make sure to provide an attribution to pages I copy/translate. --AmaryllisGardener (talk) 11:47, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Tarawa change

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but an article you created was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. I see you added attribution to the talk page but the other requirement is to simplify (simpler sentences with fewer words and simpler grammar than the original English Wikipedia). Thank you. @Rus793: I know I need to simplify it a little more. I'm new to here, and I'm trying my best. And it's not exactly like it is at enwiki. Look at the differences in bold text:
Enwiki lead: Tarawa is an atoll in the Republic of Kiribati, in the central Pacific Ocean. It comprises North Tarawa, which has much in common with other, more remote islands of the Gilberts group; and South Tarawa, which is the capital of Kiribati and home to over 50,000 people - half of the country's total population.
Simplewiki lead: Tarawa is an atoll in the Republic of Kiribati, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It comprises North Tarawa, which has a lot in common with other, more distant islands of the Gilberts group; and South Tarawa, which is the capital of Kiribati and has over 50,000 people living in it - half of the country's total population.
I'm sure it can be a lot better, but it's not exactly like it is at enwiki. --AmaryllisGardener talk 20:27, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I know, it took a little time for me to adjust to the differences here. But I think you'll find it an excellent community. I went ahead and made some changes to the article as a suggestion of how to go about it. It's certainly not the only way to do it but take a look at the code to see what I did. I used shorter, simpler sentences. I linked words not in Simple English to either other seWiki articles or to Simple English Wiktionary (nouns only in seWikt). I added sources and removed the tags. You'll find that shorter simpler sentences are also easier to find sources for. At any rate, edit the page however you like, this was just one way to go about it. Best of luck with your editing here and ask if you need any help. Rus793 (talk) 21:35, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thank you. --AmaryllisGardener talk 21:36, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

A bit too quick change

Amaryllis, you reverted vandalism on Weasel to a previous version which was also heavily vandalised, so I have rewritten the page based on En wiki. It is not a good page, but at least it's not vandalised! The way to avoid this problem in future is to

  1. Use "History" to see if the same guy did a whole series of bad entries, and
  2. Wait 15 seconds till the software does the reversion, and glance at it to make sure it really is OK. We've all made the mistake of moving on too quickly! Regards, Macdonald-ross (talk) 06:32, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
