Copying articles from the English Wikipedia

change

Hi Babylonian Armor, when you copy an article across from the English Wikipedia, like Castoreum you will need to make a note of this on the talk page. This template is good to use for this: {{Enwp based | url= (add full address here) }} I have added the code to the talk page so you can see how it works.

Also make sure that you simplify the page to meet our reading levels. If you do not do this, the page may be deleted without warning (QD) for being a copy/paste from another wikipedia and a breach of our copyright, or it may be deleted for being too complex for the Simple English Wikipedia. Some editors will copy/paste into their sandbox and work on the page until it is ready to go into the main space. Some editors will get an administrator to import the page from the English Wikipedia, which will include its edit history and therefore not breach copyright. Either method is OK. Please ask if you have any questions at all about this, other editors are always prepared to help. Peterdownunder (talk) 06:28, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
