CM16's discussion closure

change

Hello Chenzw, some user's have been discussing this and we decided you would be the best to close ChristianMan16's topic ban discussion, as you are both a 'crat and have not given a strong opinion in the matter. Would you be willing to close the discussion next Saturday? Thanks. :) American Eagle (talk) 21:12, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Got it. I will close this discussion in 2 days time. Chenzw  Talk  04:50, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
You closed the discussion as banning CM16 for 6 months but blocked him for 7 months. Looks like a typo? --Philosopher Let us reason together. 08:17, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please note, I have started a thread on your closure on AN as I believe the community consensus was to maintain the initial indefinite block, not to lessen it to six months. Thanks Soup Dish (talk) 08:40, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

@Philosopher: This is not a typo, but to allow time for community discussion after the 6 month period. @Soup Dish: I will reply on AN. Regards, Chenzw  Talk  08:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

ChenzwBot stopped

change

Dear Chenzw, I stopped you bot, because of making this wrong interwiki link [1] two times. Could you please check the reason for this error. If everything is o.k. please leave a message at my site [2], so I can enable the bot. Beast regards --Kuebi (talk) 17:49, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

O.k. I enabled the bot just now. Best regards --Kuebi (talk) 17:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

QD

change

Hello Chenzw. Just out of interest, what are these that you are creating? NotGiven 09:20, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

They are templates that are used by User:GoblinBot4, an anti-vandalism bot that is replacing Chris G Bot (with Chris G's permission ;)). Chenzw  Talk  09:21, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ah cool. I was thinking they were custom warning templates, just wondering why they were in the userspace. I understand now, thanks. :) NotGiven 09:23, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

ipbreason

change

It seems to me my change should work, but I trust you know more about the technical ins and out of Wikimedia software than me. Thanks for reverting my change. Still, I'm curious to know why these block reasons are different from the other ones. Is something special supposed to happen? EhJJTALK 15:40, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, these block reasons are templates, with the exception of them using {{((}} instead. This will prevent the templates from showing on the MediaWiki: page itself yet still manage to be displayed by the software. Chenzw  Talk  08:09, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

sulutil is back up

IP block exemption

change

Since you are an admin, you do not need block exemptions. Just wanted to let you know. Griffinofwales (talk) 22:20, 30 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

There were a few changes made. Now administrators need ipb-exempt to be exempt from tor blocks. Chenzw  Talk  01:18, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the information. Griffinofwales (talk) 01:22, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
