Hello. I've undone your edit on the RfA page because it isn't really the place to ask. But you can find the criteria for adminship here. Regards Kennedy (talk • changes). 10:27, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

This warning

Regarding this warning - Can I ask if you are sure this was vandalism? You reverted this edit but actually the information is correct. See a source here. Can I ask you to review your warning? Kennedy (talk) 22:32, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I will revert my warning if it is cited. Other wise it is unsourced content/failing to cite a verifiable reliable source, which can be reverted. Regards. Dan653 (talk) 22:40, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hmm... that's a disappointing response. Mostly for the fact that I just gave you a reliable source. If we reverted every non-cited change here nothing would get done. Fair enough the IP had a few warnings on his talk page, but there was some communication with him that meant that perhaps that edit was constructive. Which actually, as I've just proven, it was. Note that I didn't ask you to revert your edit, but to review it. I think that you should have undone your warning and undone your revert to the page. Otherwise I'm calling you on improper use of rollback. Kennedy (talk) 23:42, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
I do not have time to put in the citation. I know that if we reverted every uncited change we would get no where. I see my fault, and will fix it. Also, I thought there was a no threat policy ie. calling me on improper use of rollback rights (you're threatening to take them away, right?) Also, I am a very expereinced rollbacker with many [1] barnstars, and [2] praise from admins. Dan653 (talk) 01:09, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not having time to put in a citation isn't an excuse to revert and warn the user. It probably takes around the same amount of time. And, a 'no threat policy'? I have no idea what you are talking about? You used rollback incorrectly, so I asked you to review your edit nicely. When you refused I warned you on the use of your rollback. Also if you want to play 'my dad is bigger than your dad', I'm a former admin and bureaucrat, so I know my way around Wikipedia. I've been here more than 4 years, take my advice and watch your rollbacks more carefully. Another admin might have just taken your rollback from you for things like that. Settle down. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, Dan has admitted his mistake and has undone it. Nobody's going to have their rollback rights taken away over a single oversight. No need to continue this bickering. Osiris (talk) 10:34, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

That doesn't help anyone Osiris. There was no bickering and no need to tell anyone to settle down. As far as I was concerned we were both very calm. There is such a thing as a disagreement without it being a big deal. Kennedy (talk) 13:25, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well Osiris, Kennedy seems to think my rollback rights would have been taken away by another admin in direct opposition to your view, that they wouldn't be taken away over a single oversight. I'm conflicted. Who's right? Dan653 (talk) 21:46, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well.. a very young user who is new to the wiki expressed concern that someone was "threatening" him, so I felt compelled to reassure him since you had not done so. I know how impressionable negative feedback can be in a new environment, so when a new user brings up "no threats" it doesn't sound very calm to me. Though I'm sure that was far from how you wanted it to sound, that's apparently how Dan653 took it- apparently he's still looking for reassurance from you... I apologise if it sounded discordant, Kennedy, but I hope you understand, given your experience, that you were not my primary concern. Osiris (talk) 03:43, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, Kennedy did not threaten to take away my rollback rights, but said another admin could have, which is the only reason I became defensive. I did not mean to play "'my dad is bigger than your dad,'" but no one ever said that an "Another admin might have just taken your rollback from you for things like that." on en.wikipedia, so I felt the need to say "yes, I do know how to use rollback". Hopefully everything is smoothed over now and we can carry on. Dan653 (talk) 23:53, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
