Kendrick Lamar is an American hip-hop/rap artist. He was born on June 17th 1987.He is 26 years old. He is from Compton, in California. This city is well-known to be the home town of many big names in rap/hip-hop world like the famous music producer, Andre Romelle (Dr.Dre). His parents are still married. At school, he was very shy but he had good grades. Young, Kendrick Lamar was very impressing by those artists and he started to rap at the age of sixteen. He compares himself to the legend Tupac Amaru Shakur. Tupac had a huge influence on him not only about music but also in day-to-day lifestyle .

Career

Early, he made his first mix tape name Youngest Head Nigga in Charge. This mix tape was good enough to be signed by an independent records label, Top Dawg entertainment . After that, he continued to improve his rap ability and he grew in popularity. Kendrick Lamar is unique for his lyrical technic. He can speak so fast, and he can be so slow at the same time. He has the ability to change his type of voice depending the track. He uses puns to criticize the society. That’s why many rappers compare Kendrick Lamar with Eminem and Tupac. He worked with Dr.Dre on the album. Section.80 has been release on July 2nd 2011. Kendrick sold 5300 copies in the first week. Critics about the album were good. This album was about racism and drug tolerance. Good Kid, m.a.a.d City has been release on October 22nd 2012. It is the most famous album of Kendrick Lamar. He sold 242 122 copies in the first week. The concept of Good Kid, m.a.a.d City is about teenage Kendrick Lamar’s experiences in the gang lifestyle in Compton, the city where he grew up .
