Image uploads
changeHi Ms. Pearson. I just wanted to let you know that, for copyright reasons, this wiki can not host any images, so any files uploaded here will be deleted. I've only deleted one file uploaded by Mchagnon (talk · contribs), but I thought I'd let you know directly so that you can inform all of your students and they understand why their images are gone. They can upload freely licensed images to Wikimedia Commons; but for anything that isn't available under a commercial copyleft license, they unfortunately won't be able to use them here. Mchagnon's file, File:Relay for Life Logo.PNG, looked like it was copyrighted, so it probably won't be able to be uploaded to Commons. If you have any other questions about this, I'll be happy to answer them or I'm sure Benoit might be able to help. Regards, Osiris (talk) 12:17, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. I told the students they could use only images free of rights (like the ones on wiki commons) but mistakes can happen. I'll explain it to her.

- Hi again, Ms. Pearson! Sorry to bother you with this again. I'm having the same problem with Ahri firefox, who wants to upload a video-game cover for the article Super paper mario. It is understandable: because the cover design and screenshots will be copyrighted, there is nothing available on Wikimedia Commons to illustrate the article. Unfortunately, though, we can't host the images either, so I've had to delete all three attempts to upload a copy of the cover design. I wrote a note to Ahri on their talk page, but my skill with French is terrible, so it was in English. Would you mind explaining it? Osiris (talk) 05:17, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- Also Itaylor, who uploaded a copyrighted photo of a musical group Boyce Avenue. They should be able to find something free-to-use on Commons for that. Osiris (talk) 05:19, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
