Please remove vandalism warning

A bot warned me about my changes to the article Days of Our Lives, I believe in error (triggered by the word "sex" which I removed after). If you could remove the vandalism warning, it would be appreciated. Regards, 172.162.4.204 (talk) 19:43, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done. Keep in mind that you can avoid this happening if you create an account! Thank you for all your efforts. -Orashmatash (talk) 19:47, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguating with AWB

A long time ago I said I'd give you information on doing this. Do you still want that? --Auntof6 (talk) 22:49, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sure! Thanks for your help. -Orashmatash (talk) 22:50, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

OK, here you go. Sorry it took me so long.

Find a disambiguation page that has links to it. Choose one that doesn't have the "(disambiguation)" qualifier on it, because any links to those are deliberate and should be left.

Look over the entries on the dab page to get familiar with them. This will help you pick the right one when you do the disambiguating.

Log into AWB

In the left-hand area along the bottom of the AWB display, choose one of the "What links here" options in the "Source:" dropdown list.

In the "What links to:" box, type the name of the dab page

Click on the "Make list" button

In the center area along the bottom of the AWB display, click on the "Disambig" tab.

Check the "Enable disambiguation" box

In the "Link to disambiguate" box, type the name of the dab page.

Click on the "Load links" button. This loads a list of everything that's linked on the dab page. Since our dab pages aren't all very clean, a lot of them have links other than the ones that match being disambiguating. Take a look at what gets loaded and remove the ones that wouldn't be applicable. For example, if you're working with the page Base, you get at least the following links that can be removed: definition and Simple English Wikipedia.

Click on the "Start" tab. Enter an edit summary that describes what you'll be doing, such as "Fixing links to disambiguation pages". You can also check the "Minor edit" button.

Click on the start button. Before bringing up the usual edit display, AWB gives you a window where you can pick the right meaning for each place where the dab page is linked.

For each link to the dab page, you have a window on the left that shows text containing the link. On the right, there is a dropdown box where you can choose what to do with the link. You can:

  • leave the link as it is ([no change])
  • remove the link ([unlink])
  • tag the link as needing disambiguation ({{dn}})
  • replace the link with a link to one of the entries on the dab page

Your choice isn't saved until you click on "Done", so try the different options to see what they do. The small window below the dropdown box shows how the text will be changed for each option. When you have processed each link, click on "Done", and AWB will proceed to the usual edit display, with your disambiguation changes done. Proceed as usual.

Those are the basics. For a little more info, see the disambig section of the AWB user manual. Any questions? --Auntof6 (talk) 17:40, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nope, no questions; thank you so much for helping me! -Orashmatash (talk) 18:09, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chocolate milk

Hi Orash! Just to say that, further to your edit on chocolate milk I deleted the whole paragraph because it is complete nonsense. Hikitsurisan 10.6.12(can't find tilde on this computer) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hikitsurisan (talkcontribs) 21:36, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ah, thanks! Just so you know, there is a little button that looks like a blue pencil above the edit window which will insert your signature for you. :) -Orashmatash (talk) 15:16, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I know I'm not part of this, but thanks for that tip. I didn't know it! :) --DJDunsie (talk) 12:45, 13 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I know, I know! How about "a jumble of letters and a number"? xD -Mh7kJ (talk) 14:50, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Is this impish? a bit like Mister Mxyzptlk? --Horeki (talk) 15:48, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
No, the letters (except the "k") are acronyms. -Mh7kJ (talk) 21:32, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Aw, why the name change? At least "Omtsh" was easier to pronounce than this extremely bad scrabble rack :) BarkingFish (talk) 00:57, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
