Please be civil...Edit

...even in edit summaries like the one for this change. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:03, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[]

I hardly ever use profanities while editing Wikipedia (unless it's necessary). I prefer being bold although not reckless. However, the reason for using that edit summary to which you just referred, the users of that IP operating address made me very furious when they vandalized my user talk page and certain other pages (including users' talk pages, politician articles and the Adolf Hitler article with obscenities and Hitler's family name used in the wording); when they used profanities while editing WP:VIP, that became the last straw. I'm much tougher and more resilient than I was before August 2015. Such vandalism that involves obscenity or uses Hitler's name, however, will sometimes be more than even most experienced Wikipedia users can tolerate. But I promise to remain more civil even in the worst vandalism cases on each Wikipedia site. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 06:53, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[]
Using profanities is never necessary here. The most experienced Wikipedia users know that they will have to deal with vandalism and nastiness sometimes and they know how to keep their cool no matter what the provocation. That doesn't mean that you tolerate it; you just show that you don't tolerate it by reverting, warning, then reporting when it's appropriate. I just took a look at that user's vandalism, and it's nothing compared to what the admins get in their email. If you want to be an admin, it's all the more important that you can handle this stuff without this kind of reaction. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:44, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[]

Category:Women's rights?Edit

Hello Angela, Personally, I think it's a good idea to have a category to group all these topics that concern women (for the contest); I would hoever see the following:

  • Category:Women's suffrage - has been / still is a hot topic. We would need another article though (and put Women's suffrage, and Women's voting rights in the US in there)
  • Category:Women victims of violence/harassment (or similar) - Domestic violence, Sexual harassment; possibly Acid attack (IIRC affects women more often then men)

While they are not directly concerned items like child marriage, or forced marriage could also fit (no idea what category though, possibly with reproductive rights & abortion). As to the feminism, I am sure there are 2-3 more of them (I created them, for different feminist movements, you'll probably find them if you search for feminism...). What about the article on Femen, or a body positivity? Just thoughts,I just don't feel good having an articles "sexual harrassment" in a category:WOmen's rights - That sounds like women had a "right to be harrassed" (which is certainly not the case). So what do you think?--Eptalon (talk) 20:58, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[]

I think you're right. Sexual harassment might not exactly have been that appropriate for this Women's rights category having been assigned for that Wikipedia page. Simple English Wikipedia's gotta have much more appropriate articles for this women's rights category. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 21:33, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[]

I got a reply to my email, but from an email address with a name I wasn't expecting. Please leave me a message either here or on my talk page letting me know whether it was from you, just so I can be sure someone else didn't reply to your email. You don't have to mention the exact name. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:44, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Alright. You and I can have the further talks on my talk page here. The topics mentioned during that email can be all listed here on this page. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 05:02, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Just to be clear, I don't mind communicating about this via email. I was just thrown by seeing a name I wasn't expecting. But here is also fine if you want. I'll let you take the lead. What would you like to discuss? Do you have questions about what was in my email? -- Auntof6 (talk) 05:15, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Not what was in your email. What was in mine. The email I wrote tonight that answered you meant I needed to talk about several issues I had written on your talk page on August 15. Over several recent months I began realizing I committed mistakes not even recognizing those until afterward as listed on your talk page. My laptop computer started slowing down as though it suffered a stroke. At some point over the next three months, I'll have a more advanced laptop from Microsoft as usual; I always have Microsoft. OK. If you want to talk with me about any of it, just let me know where and when. -- Auntof6 (talk) 05:48, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
On this talk page, in the current week. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 05:55, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
OK. When you're ready, give me the topic. By the way, is there a particular reason you're using boldface here? -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:05, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
I want wording clearly viewed. And topic one: wording like serve, substandard, rear ends (from the sexual objectification article). Topic two: recently in August this very year I looked at just over 30 Simple English Wikipedia articles I created before late August/early September 2015; I was young/careless before then. One very concerning problem I didn't realize until recently was that change summary rem potentially libelous statement on [[Judith Miller (journalist). I hadn't actually known that statement wasn't appropriate until that change summary. My technology wasn't right before early December 2012. I would not knowingly insert something slanderous or any libelous materials into articles; I cannot risk getting blocked as my own reputation would be ruined and destroyed. Topic three: Though I sometimes make mistakes, I'm careful more than I was from autumn 2015 and earlier. My technologies are better than before Dec 2012. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 06:43, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Could you explain what you mean by "I want wording clearly viewed"? I don't understand what that means. -- Auntof6 (talk) 09:10, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[]
I sometimes use boldface because words show better and are more serious. They are used in several circumstances while I insert details. Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 09:33, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[]
