Copying-pasting of English Wikipedia articles change

Dear Spiderpig-Punkboi, while I appreciate your effort in creating new articles, your recent spree of importing contents from EnWp without the slightest change is not the proper way to do things at Simple English Wikipedia. Verbatim copies of EnWp articles contain templates and images that don't exist here; and most important, they are far too complex for our target readers to understand. While it's great to add new material basing our entries on EnWp material, it is imperative to rewrite them in Simple English before adding them to our project. So please, stop copying-pasting contents from English Wikipedia articles; we are not a mirror site, but something substantially different. I suggest to review the articles you've created as soon as you possibly can, and make short stubs in Simple English out of them, so you can rewrite them afterwards. Otherwise, they will most likely be deleted as unsuitable to our project. Have a nice weekend, Phaedriel - 01:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

GDFL change

I don't think so. It's like one of those complex tags or cleanup tags (click here to see them) that people put on articles that they don't want to simplify.

If you want, I could help you to simplify the articles?

ps. Just be careful to remove all templates and pictures that don't work here.
I've just looked over some of your articles, and simplifed them, but some are too long and complex to be kept here (like this one). Some are fine, but if an article is more than two screens long (or 30 kb) don't copy and paste it to here. It takes too much time and effort to simplify.
Shorter ones are fine, but pages and pages which will just be deleted because they're too complicated are not very useful.

Two things - It is GFDL (GNU Free Documentation License), not GDFL. To aid in tagging articles, look at the template {{GFDL info}}. It should easy your tagging of articles, just add
{{subst:GFDL info|en|Spiderpig0001}}
and it will do the work for you. -- Creol(talk) 08:15, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good work! I've never seen an archive bot on this Wiki (I've seen lots on English Wiki), here is a list of bots that you could use for reference.
I'm just going to clean up a couple of articles and then I'll proof-read your ones, if you want me to.

Deletions and pictures change

The articles have been deleted. Unfortunately I will not be able to take any pictures of any of the stations as I live 10.2K miles away from Melbourne. -- Creol(talk) 08:32, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deleted copy-pastes change

I'm sure you will notice that I have deleted a number of articles you created. The reason for this is that they were copy-pastes from English Wikipedia that were not simplified. You have been told a few times not to do this and I am asking you again: if you copy and paste an article from English Wikipedia, make sure that you make the language simple, remove any templates that we do not use here, and make changes to our formatting here (like "External links" to "Other websites"). Please use your efforts here to create simple versions of the "regular" English counterparts. That way, you will not be wasting your time, nor the time of the administrator who has to delete your unsimplified articles. Thank you. · Tygartl1·talk· 02:56, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
