Grazie per votare! (Thank you for voting!)

Dear Vector, thank you for voting in my Rfa. Netoholic has concerns. As such, I will not be pormoted to administrator status. However, I do not hold it against him. Once again, grazie, grazie, il mio amico!-- Tdxiang 02:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Administrator

It's my duty to point out that, consensus being reached on Wikipedia:Administrators, you are now an admin. Make sure to review all the current policies. If you intend to use the "Block user" function, you must keep your email address current and check for messages often. The big thing to remember is not to use your abilities in any conflicts (editing or otherwise) that you're directly involved. Other than that, I'd suggest starting out slowly, and feel free to contact me or another admin if you have any other questions or just need a second opinion. Try to keep to the core values of Simple:, and remember... we aren't just another EN: Wikipedia. -- Netoholic @ 06:27, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Warning vandals

Vector, you reverted an anon IP change at Abortion and warned the user. But the edit in question was not blatant vandalism, nor a test. The editor was explainign the meaning of a word. Maybe not necessary since the word was already explained, so reverting it may have been justified, but warning the user was not. Blockinblox 19:58, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Congratulazioni

Buon lavoro, M/ 22:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bureaucrat

New elections for bureaucrats on simple.wikipedia are going to start. Would you like to give a hand to simple.wikipedia and candidating here? --M7 17:14, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

partial restores

Why are you "clearing" the history of various pages (like the Sandbox)? This is not necessary, nor desired. If there is some personal information (or other major problems) in the history, report it to the developers by giving the "oldid" numbers. Otherwise, please don't do this as it you may be deleting records which may be important later. -- Netoholic @ 18:00, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you

Thank you for lifting the block unfairly applied by Netoholic. This episode was also reported to Stewards. --M7 18:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vector, all you are doing is supporting M7's power grab. He is not an active editor on this wiki (fighting vandals occasionally, but anyone can do that). People who come onto a project and cause problems need to go. You are still learning, and I have tried to help you - and if I have one piece of advice, it is to not encourage politics on the wiki. -- Netoholic @ 19:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations!

Hooray for Vector, new sysop! You passed it, while... I... um... failed?-- Tdxiang 03:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edit counting

Vector, I don't know a whole lot about the Javascript edit counter, but your monobook seems to be correct, judging from en:User:Interiot/Tool2. Have you done a hard refresh (Ctrl-Shift-R) after updating your monobook.js file? Also, note that the tool does not work with Internet Explorer. Personally, I use http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/Tool1/wannabe_kate on the English Wikipedia; for other projects (including simplewiki), you should use http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/count_edits, not the Javascript or wannabe_kate tools. Promotions!

Hey there Vector!

Just saw your message to Tdxiang. Tdxiang's adminship has only been re-opened for 3 days now. Although I think we all know it's not likely to change, the stewards may not like it that much if it's put on Meta this early. Also, you mentioned about candidating yourself for CheckUser. I've nominated myself for it before (see the archives) and there just weren't enough people around to get the 25 votes necessary, and there has to be two or more CheckUsers, or none. Also, people might want you to be an admin a little longer before getting even more responsibility! If you want to go ahead with it you can of course, but I just don't think it's going to work out.

Keep up the good admin work! Thanks, Archer7 - talk 21:39, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

done, not done

Sure, thanks for creating them :) I'm entirely fine with those two templates - but I'm not overly fond of the voting image templates (Support, Oppose, etc.) that some wikis (like meta) have, so I think it's better to keep these templates down to a minimum. What do you think? Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 12:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, they look fine :) When I said I wasn't fond of voting image templates, I meant ones like these:
which some people use on some wikis. They don't look good in every browser, clutter up Special:Whatlinkshere, etc. and are generally frowned upon. However, as I said, I think your templates are effective. Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 12:11, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Esperanza

Vector, I made a esperanza on wikiquote. I am wondering if you want to be its first vice president. If you want to tell me on my talk page and I will make a link to your user page where it says vice president. I need you to.--Sir James Paul 20:54, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would like to make you president of wikiquote esperanza

Vector, I would love to make you president of wikiquote esperanza. You would make a great president. You will help this project so much. Answer me soon on my talk page.--Sir James Paul 03:06, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Block opinion

Hi, I don't know if you really want my opinion on this, but I'd have blocked RH Returns (talk • contribs • CA • deleted contribs • nuke contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log) indefinitely as all their contributions have been vandalism. I think it's pretty obvious that they don't want to contribute constructively, and judging by the "Returns" in their username, I'd say that they're either a troll, an impersonator of Reri Horlockon, or a vandal that's previously been indefinitely blocked. Just my opinion anyway, hope it isn't taken badly or anything. JDtalk 21:56, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Vector, thanks for the note about this one. It comes from the big nasty User:Reri Horlockon incident. I don't know if you were around then, so here's a quick summary. Basically soon after this user (who contributed constructively) was created, loads of sockpuppets were created attacking him. We used range blocks and everything to stop it, and noticed that they were only created when that user was around. It got to the point where we could say that either they were watching us 24:7 over a period of several months, or it was the same person. I blocked both accounts, when a new user User:Miagop was created asking for the account to be unblocked saying it had been hacked. The attack sockpuppets started again, so I range blocked the entire range for a while and it put a stop to it. Now that new account is the same person again. I'll reblock to infinite, and do a range block. Any further sockpuppets, just infinitely block and get a CheckUser. Thanks for the note! Archer7 - talk 10:20, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Marshwood Junior High School

I made this article and Creol put this up for deletion. This article is on wikipedia(this is a simple version of it) and it has not been put up for deletion. It is a junior high school with around 600 students. I am wondering if you can take off the speedy deletion template on it. Have a nice week. There is also an article on Centeral School, and Eliot Elemenatry that he put up for deletion. I paln on making those 2 articles better. Also remove the template on those also please.--Sir James Paul 20:01, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Protection and vandal block

You recently protected Amazon Rainforest because of recent vandalism, and then blocked the IP that was vandalising it. If you've blocked the only vandal, is there still a point in having the page protected? J Di 19:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stop deleting Guinness

So what if I'm using sockpuppets? This isn't vandalism and you don't even give any explanation for deletion and It's never speedied and should have been here before.Kerano 16:14, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sir James Paul

Sir James Paul is causing problems at the moment, but I don't think a block would be the best move. A lot of his actions are becaus he's new, and fixed on the idea of being a sysop. I'm going to get a CheckUser on the Wikiquote user NY, and if that proves to be a sockpuppet, I'll block all accounts over there. I am confident that SJP can help the encyclopedia a lot, so I really don't want to block/ban him right now. If he causes any major disruption 24 hour blocks will be fine, but I think he'll learn a lot over the next few weeks and prove to be a good editor. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 09:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your vote on wikiquote simple english

When it comes to using sysop tools I am not clueless because I have a site that is on wikipedia that tells me how to use them. I understand being a sysop does not make you better than everyone else. Will you please reconsider your vote. Also I have time to practice using my tules before I will have to use them for real. I will practice protecting pages by protecting, then unprotecting my user page. I will delete, and then undelete my talk page. I will make a account, then block it. I will make a edit on my user page and then revert it. Please reconsider. Have a nice week and god bless.--Sir James Paul 14:02, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
