Your template

The template which you made was not much use, unfortunately, because we already have a very similar template called Template:Non. Thank you anyway. Billz (Talk) 15:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sumatra

Hello Vector and thank you for alerting us to a nonsensical article. However, despite the placement of a template on that page, you forgot (or did not know) that you were supposed to list it on our requests for deletion page. I'm going to list it up so others can vote, though it's a speedy delete. Thank you anyway, friend.-- Tdxiang 08:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if I confused you. What I meant was that you are doing a good job.-- Tdxiang 12:31, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Barnstar

Even though you have only been here for a few days, you have worked extremely hard on Simple English Wikipedia and you thoroughly deserve this Barnstar. Your work is absolutely fantastic and you are an excellent contributer. Keep up the good work! Billz (Talk) 15:59, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Subst:

Just so you know, you only need to use the subst: version of a template on user's talk pages. For example, to welcome a user, you would use . To mark an article for deletion however, you would just use Reason. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 16:10, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandal

Don't worry Vector, I got a steward to temporarily Makesysop me, so I've been blocking/reverting all the sockpuppets of the vandal. Cheers, Tangotango 15:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you too! Good work :) - Tangotango 15:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I managed to just miss the recent vandal attack, but thank you very much for your hard work reverting the vandalism. Billz (Talk) 15:23, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations: You have been awarded a Minor Barnstar!

You have done a great job with the articles about Italian regions and I pleased to award you with a Minor Barnstar for your work. Thank you for all your effort and I hope that you will continue to help us to improve Simple English Wikipedia. Billz (Talk) 11:43, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

blanking pages

Hello Vector, I noticed that you blanked a page that was nonsense. Instead you should give it a template for deletion. Wikipedia:Deletion policy. Thanks :) T. Moitie|Talk|Esperanza 17:52, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello

Hello, Vector. Yes, I understand he is a friend of yours. I was just giving a translation. And... I'm a little worried about your signature. Yes, it's cute and neat, but if it gets too long, it clutters pages up. Anyway, I was just going to give you this barnstar for your work in helping us build Wikipedia. Thank you!-- Tdxiang 05:57, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes

Oh yes, Vector, if you want to have a page deleted, please put Reason. Of course, please state why you want it to be deleted. When you have done so, do this at the Rfd page:

Article name
(Reason for deleting article)
--~~~~

I hope this piece of advice has been useful. See you soon!-- Tdxiang 06:00, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Contributions

I feel like there is a misunderstanding. Many of your contributions fail to meet our guidelines. Specifically, I mean that image uploads are not allowed here (Project:Image use policy) and some of your pages are not Project:Core articles. Please read those pages before proceeding. -- Netoholic @ 06:52, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Vector. For your information, the year 2 is here. Hope I can clear the confusion, since Netholic reverted your edit.-- Tdxiang 07:06, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow, Vector. You're editing really fast (even faster than me!)! It's great to know that you show great enthusiasm in helping us. Once again, good job!-- Tdxiang 08:27, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your invitation

Hello Vector, thanks for inviting me to Esperanza. However, I am not sure that I will be spending much time on the Simple English Wiki. Indeed, I focus more generally on the Francophone Wikipedia, and do not have that much time (unfortunately) to get involved fully in any project. My contributions are mostly some proofreading, light restructuring, occasional fact checking, and a few articles in French. But I like the idea of your peaceful group, and wish all of you the best. Cheers, grazie! Syrius 16:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Esperanza

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Vector/Archive2, to Esperanza! As you may know, all the members have one important goal, which is the success of this encyclopedia. To do this we want to make the community better, and be the nice side of Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, comments, or general ideas, use the Esperanza talk page! We thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Warning

Thank you for coming to Simple to help us, but, as I mentioned before, you are failing to follow our guidelines and common sense by moving so fast.

 • Do not upload images - see Project:Image use policy.
 • Do not create empty, useless category pages. You see to be filling in red links for category pages, but you are failing to do a proper job. Usually you just repeat the name of the category like here. Categories are only helpful if you put categories into other more general or related categories. Doing half the job just means more work for others.
 • Stop mass-advertising Esperanza.

Slow down, watch what you are doing, and follow policy... or you will be blocked. -- Netoholic @ 16:30, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deleting pages

When deleting pages, please can you leave the page content there and simply put the delete tag (Reason) above the vandalism/nonsense. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 15:43, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you

Thank you for welcoming me. I've been to the really hard to understand English wikipedia and I saw some pretty cool userboxes. Do you have those? Thanks. I'd love to join Esperanza! What does it take for me to for a youth foundation? Thanks. How many edits does it take to be an admin? --Kimberly Ashton 23:09, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay. If I were to run for IP admin (if there is) I would've successfully won. I had about 1, 927 good edits and zero bad. I've been here since I was eleven. Thanks. --Kimmy 23:03, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nonsense articles

If an article is definite nonsense, simply put the Reason tag on the page. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 17:09, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Esperanza invitation

Thanks for the invitation. I am not sure how much time I am able to devote to this wiki. I am a member of the en:Wikipedia:Esperanza group already btw, so I would love to help where I could if there are many small contributions to make. Thanks for the invitation btw! Italics

Hi Vector. As far as I know, there is no need to add italics to the article name, like you did to the Oxford article. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 18:33, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome and anon templates

This is the message which Netoholic (Talk) left for me, and I think that the same applies for your edits:

I think we should go easy with the anon template. Eventually, old IP user talk pages must be deleted so that future users (or those where it's a shared IP) don't get confused. Also, if someone makes only a couple edits, it's fairly likely they will return on a totally different IP and never se the message. Reserve the anon template for users who look like they really want to contribute, say with a minimum of 10 edits. Be careful not to welcome vandals, so check contribs first.

Similarly, I think the Welcome template should only be used when a logged in account actually has made a couple edits. Some people make accounts to have watchlists, or just to check things out. There is a reason why a user talk page is not immediately created by the system.

Thank you. Billz (Talk) 06:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please could you stop welcoming new users until they make a few edits? Thanks. Billz (Talk) 06:20, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

VecBot

Your bot, VecBot, is making a lot of edits which is filling up the Recent Changes. Please could you apply for a bot flag? Thanks. Billz (Talk) 15:41, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your signature

Hello, Vector. Please subst your sig by doing . You may also choose to change to a raw signature in your prefrences page. Thank you.-- Tdxiang @ 09:57, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Seconded. The MediaWiki software normally prevents you from having a non-subst'd template in your signature to keep server load down, to prevent mass-vandalism to all the talk pages you have contributed to, etc. It is not helpful to override this default protection, as the consequences can be quite dangerous to the project. Your current signature can be used with the standard signature feature by entering Vector <small>(write to me please)</small> in the signature field, and by checking "Raw signatures". Please do so immediately. Thank you, Tangotango 13:51, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
P.S. If you need my bot to substitute all current instances of , please don't hestitate to ask. - Tangotango 13:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hello, Vector, my friend. Please subst you templates of your signatures. Thanks a lot!-- Tdxiang @ 03:53, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, since only an administrator can fix this particular piece of vandalism, I've asked User:Blockinblox to fix it. Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 16:54, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the barnstar!! :) Much appreciated. Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 17:04, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Vector/firma

It is not good to use a template-like signature - see en:Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages#Transclusion/template. I've deleted "User:Vector/firma", so please fix your preferences. -- Netoholic @ 18:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vector, this is why you should subst it: Vandals who link back to User:Vector/firma will see it and vandalise it. Otherwise, please do as I say:
 1. Click on here.
 2. See the "Nickname" box? Add this:
Vector <small>(write to me please)</small>
 1. Click on "Raw signature" button.
 2. Click on "Save preferences".
 3. You are done! Just type ~~~~ and your signature will appear the way you want it to be.

Thank you!-- Tdxiang @ 04:46, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

non

Dear Vector, for immediate deletion of nonsense articles, please use non. Thank you!-- Tdxiang Adminship @ 10:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uh, it's just non. Yes, just that will do. Thanks.-- Tdxiang Adminship 03:07, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nov 4 vandal attacks

Well, that was entertaining. You had a very impressive response time on reverts. Impressive enough of a job that it made up my mind about voting for you as admin. Thanks for being there, they were starting to swarm me a little too much. --Creol 17:41, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

Thanks a lot for stopping all that vandalism on my userpage! I really owe yu one now. --§ Alastor Moody (T + C) 19:07, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Revert Mistakes

Vector, you do a great job watching for vandalism and making sure it gets reverted. However, I have noticed that sometimes you get a bit overzealous and revert articles that shouldn't be reverted. Somebody commented on it on this very page (Oct 2, 2006, Water). Here are a few articles that I believe should not have been reverted: Pope John Paul II, Norway, Hello, List of religions, Temple, Hinduism, and Satanism. These are all in the last couple of weeks. Again, I think you do a great job taking care of vandalism. I would just ask you to be a little more careful when you revert. Thanks. TK421 19:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
