Independence Day (India)

Independence Day has been celebrated every year in India (Republic of India) on 15 August since 1947. On that date, India became indepedented after British India was partitioned into the Dominion of India and the Dominion of Pakistan. The Dominion of India became today's Republic of India in 26 January 1950, which is celebrated as Republic Day.
