Maggie Goodlander
Margaret Vivian Goodlander (born November 4, 1986) is an American attorney and politician who is the U.S. representative-elect from New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district.[1] She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Early life
changeGoodlander was born in November 1986 and was raised in Nashua, New Hampshire.[2] Goodlander's mother, was a Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and also served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs.[3]
Goodlander received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in history from Yale College in 2009 and then attended Yale Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2016.[2]
Legal career
changeAfter graduating from law school, Goodlander served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Merrick Garland of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 2016 to 2017 and Justice Stephen Breyer of the U.S. Supreme Court from 2017 to 2018.[4]
She also taught constitutional law at Dartmouth College and the University of New Hampshire.[5]
Goodlander served as Counsel to the United States House of Representative Committee on the Judiciary, where she helped develop the first articles of impeachment against then-President Donald Trump.[6]
Political career
changeIn June 2024, Goodlander announced her candidacy for the United States House of Representatives for New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district in the 2024 election.[7] She won the Democratic nomination in September 2024. She won the general election in November 2024.[1]
Personal life
changeIn 2015, Goodlander married Jake Sullivan, who is the United States National Security Advisor for President Joe Biden.[8] In 2023, Goodlander gave birth to a stillborn at a hotel room.[2]
