March of Azerbaijan
Azərbaycan marşı (cyrl. Азәрбајҹан Маршы, arab. آذربایجان مارشی, pron. [ɑ̝ːz̪æ̞ɾbɑ̝jˈd͡ʒɑ̝n mɑ̝ɾˈʃɯ̞] "ah-zar-bahy-JAHN mahr-SHIH"; en. LyricsEdit
The Cyrillic script was used in Soviet Azerbaijan between 1958 and 1991, and it is still used in the Republic of Dagestan in Russia. The Perso-Arabic script is used by the Iranian Azerbaijanis in South Azerbaijan, and it has been once used by all Azerbaijanis until the Soviet Latinisation campaign in the 1920s.

Unofficial poetic translationEdit
Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan!
O glorious land o' thy brave ancestors!
We are together ready to die fo' thee!
We are together ready to shed our blood!
Live blissfully with thy three-coloured flag!
Bless'd we live under thy fine tricolour!
Thousands o' martyrs died fo' thee;
A battlefield thy chest became!
Thy fierce soldiers defended thee –
All heroes in thy annals o' fame!
A rose garden so vernal,
Fo' our souls we sacrifice!
Thy love so eternal
Hast earned us a place to suffice!
In maintainin' thy dignity,
In order to hoist thy banner,
In upholdin' nobility,
Ready are thy young forever!
O Motherland! O Motherland!
Azerbaijan! Azerbaijan!
Azerbaijan! Azerbaijan!
