Mera (comics)

Mera (/ˈmɪrə/) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She was developed by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy. She is the wife of the superhero Aquaman. The character first appeared in Aquaman #11 (September 1963) as a queen of the sea. Mera was ranked 81st in Comics Buyer's Guide's "100 Sexiest Women in Comics" list.^[1]

American actress Amber Heard portrays Mera in the live-action movies Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder,^[2]^[3] Aquaman, directed by James Wan,^[4]in Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021), and in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023).
