It is the sequel to the 2004 game Star Wars: Battlefront. A reboot of the same name was released on November 17, 2015.[4] On March 14, 2024, Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was released. It was a compilation of both the original Battlefront and Battlefront II.[5]

The game's campaign mode follows the 501st Legion from the First Battle of Geonosis to the Battle of Hoth.[6] Players can play as a member of one of the four main factions in the prequel and the classic movie trilogies. The factions that the player can choose from are the Galactic Republic, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Rebel Alliance, and the Galactic Empire. There are also six classes to choose from. The player travels to different planets and fights enemies.[7]

Reception change

The game was very well liked by both game critics and players. Critics said that they liked the single player campaign and improvements to the AI.[8][9]

Battlefront II sold very well as well. It sold over 6 million copies worldwide since 2007.[10]
