change- Not had a chance to look at it, let alone comment! Not suggesting it was a mistake, but heavens, what happened? Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:32, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- An issue which should have been addressed is whether it is one game or several. I think it's a family of games. Bowles has no international or even national supervision in most countries. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:38, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I promoted it after I saw there was widespread support in the community. It looks like I am pretty much the only one left promoting articles.... Eptalon (talk) 09:54, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- The article was listed for GA for well over a month longer than it was listed for.
- Did you not see the "other games" section where it is stated there are other games? There are similarly named games such as boules, and other games with similar equipment (crown green bowls, short mat bowls, etc.)

- I'd argue that most sports outside of the biggest in the world don't have national associations in every country (for that purpose, international and national are the same thing). Outside of association football, I can't think of another sport that is active in every single country in the world (and I suspect, it's probably not even true of football). Whilst you could definitely argue that bowls isn't super popular worldwide, but you'd be surprised the amount of countries that have at least some sort of bowls played recreationally (most of Europe, it's played in India, etc). There's definately some scope to add a line or two about countries, but I've not found a citation that actively states that exactly what countries it's played in.
- I'd be happy to get more involved and promote articles at GA (not my own of course), but I was recently reverted when trying, so I'm a bit reticent to do any more.Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 19:07, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
