Nyakuichiōji (若一王子) is a syncretic Shinto-Buddhist deity and part of Kumano Gongen. She is identified with Amaterasu-ōmikami, and worshipped at Nyakuichiōji Shrine
In the Kumano Sanzan, the Twelve Kumano Deities are divided into three groups: Sansho Gongen, Gosho Oji, and Shisho Myojin. Nyakuichiōji holds the premier position among the Gosho Oji. Nyakuichiōji’s Buddhist Prototype (本地仏) is the Eleven-Headed Kannon, who is equated with Amaterasu Ōmikami and Ninigi-no-Mikoto. This deity is enshrined in the fourth hall at both Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Hayatama Taisha, and in the fifth hall at Kumano Nachi Taisha, all of which are currently referred to as "Wakamiya," symbolizing Amaterasu Ōmikami.
As the Kumano faith spread throughout Japan, Kumano Gongen shrines were established in various locations, often enshrining only Nyakuichiōji. Following the Meiji era separation of Shinto and Buddhism, many shrines shifted their focus from "Nyakuichiōji" to Amaterasu Ōmikami or Ninigi no Mikoto, though some continue to venerate him as "Nyakuichiōji" as before.

- Nyakuichiōji Shrine in Ōmachi, Nagano Prefecture . The shrine is dedicated to Prince Wakaiichi, who is enshrined in the 5th hall of Nachi Taisha Shrine.
- The shrine grove of Wakaichioji Shrine in Wakaoji and Fujieda 5-chome, Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture .
- Kumano Nyakuōji Shrine in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto City . Emperor Go-Shirakawa enshrined Kumano Gongen. It is also known as "Wakaoji Shrine" or "Wakaoji-san" [1] [2] .
- Nyakuichi Shrine in Honmachi, Shichijō Street, Shimogyō-ku, Kyoto City. This was the location of Taira Taira no Kiyomori, Nishihachijodono . [3] [4]
- A shrine in Tanabe , Wakayama Prefecture . It no longer exists, but a monument to "Nyakuichi Oji Gongen" stands at the site.
- The ancient name of Susami-ōji Shrine in Susami, Nishimuro District, Wakayama was "Nyakuichi Oji Gongen Shrine."
- Kumano Shrine in Kumano-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture was formerly known as Nyakuoji Shrine.
- The ancient name of Heinosō-jinja in Heisocho, Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture is "Hira no Sho Wakaichi Oji Gongen."
