question

hi. my husband happened to stumble upon a warning that said our ip, which we both have, and we share with other on charter, i'm sure, did something wrong in 2008? neither of us have a wiki account, and the only changes he has ever made were grammar errors he spotted. the only thing i have ever done was add comments from person experience with a topic. for instance, i'm related to a person in an article and i mention i knew them as a child. or similar. i have never defamed anybody.

i'm guessing your vandal of almost 5 years ago was a different charter customer, not either of us. kindly look into this. i sign my posts ~^..^~ , it's my signature online. thank you.

Hi there. Yes, IP addresses are often shared, and a single address can be used by many different people over the course of time. Please don't take these messages personally; they are often not intended for the current reader. There is nothing we can do about this on a technical level, but you are welcome to create an account to avoid this happening in future. PeterSymonds (talk) 23:18, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Canis Major

I noticed that you deleted the page on Canis Major two years ago. Was that page on the constellation, or on something else? Dberard (talk) 02:16, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The deleted page was one sentence which said the constellation looked like dog. You are most welcome to do better.--Peterdownunder (talk) 03:48, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help with a school project?

Hi we are going to have about 30 students do minor editing on the Simple English Wikipedia sometime in February. Students will have accounts, however would the amount of traffic from our IP range signal a red flag? How can we be assured that all students will be able to carry out their simple editing? Thanks. Brachiopods category

Just so I understand your thinking, what was the reason you declined the QD on Category:Brachiopods? In case it wasn't clear, when I found the category, it had only one entry. I removed that entry QDing. Thanks -- just curious. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Well, the category now has two entries and looking at the talk page, it seems that Mac is going to create another one. The category may have been empty when you tagged it, however, it no longer is empty.Regards, -Barras talk 12:33, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks. I just didn't want you thinking I had QD'd a category as empty when it wasn't! Also, thanks for deleting some of the others I QD'd. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:45, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Jinki

The username "Ansei" is now semi-retired. I formally set it aside in a manner which is consistent with Wikipedia policies.

This username is derived from Jinki (神亀), which was a Japanese era name (年号, nengō, lit. "year name") during the years from 724 through 729. The era name change was part of a pacification or peace-making ritual. The nengō Jinki means "turtle".--Jinki (talk) 20:57, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Catalyst for consensus-building

On the wall at the U-Bahn (subway) Station Gesundbrunnen (Berlin) → German translation of George Santayana's words: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Barras -- At Wikipedia:Simple talk#Racepacket's unblock request, I want to join your opinion here. I want to work with you in creating a consensus made up of the two of us.

Also, I want to learn from this small opportunity to work with you.

Regardless of what happens to Racepacket over the course of the coming year, I want to learn how to be an a more active catalyst for consensus-building. Will you please help me try to figure this out in 2013?

What can we do together? --Jinki (talk) 19:17, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please notice that I posted a diff here which links your words here. --Jinki (talk) 16:27, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
