Warning

Hey Chenzw, Today I was in this situation. An IP is vandalizing continuously. So we are giving warnings to that IP. After reporting that IP, it continues it's bad work. But problem is no admin available that time. So it isn't blocked. What'll we do that time?--Pratyya ^(Hello!) 14:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Do you know how to use IRC? We have an IRC channel where stewards are available (#wikimedia-stewards). Stewards are able to carry out administrative actions (such as blocking and deletion) on any wiki in case of an emergency. You can ask for a steward over there. Chenzw  Talk  14:36, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Lately User:Oregonian2012 has been responding rudely to me. Can you send him a warning about the Wikipedia behavior policy. Do what's necessary. -TDKR Chicago 101 (talk), 8 May 2013, 19:35 (UTC).

This is somewhat hasty and unnecessary. Although the user's responses in question have been somewhat curt, there's certainly no need to currently elevate this beyond a civil discussion on their talk page, which is taking place. Certainly we're not at the stage where any kind of formal warning or administrator action is warranted. As a courtesy, you may additionally wish to alert the user in question to this kind of discussion in future. (And, as a side note, WP:AN would tend to be more appropriate for raising grievances.) BG7 has summed it up pretty well. I will not intervene at this moment, because I think it is unnecessary. Rest assured that I have reviewed the relevant edits. Oregonian2012 has blanked the relevant section on his user talk. Let us assume good faith and take it that he has understood the concerns of other editors.
