Funny part change

Take a quick look at Razorflames talk page, you'll see that the "funny part" went on for a bit longer there :)

MediaWiki Pages change

What the heck are they and why are you creating them? -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:03, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are pages where system messages and other things related to MediaWiki interface are stored. Only admins can edit them. What I'm currently doing is an effort to let users use Gadgets (which are enabled through "my settings" page). - Huji reply 20:05, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. Sorry if I sounded a bit crude up there. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:06, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problem. - Huji reply 20:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppets change

What's the policy on having a sockpuppet? -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 20:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean this? Then I suggest you read the policy pages on English Wikipedia too. - Huji reply 16:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nope, that solved my problem. -Razorflame (contributions) Talk 16:59, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gadgets change

Seems fine. I now have popups on SEWP and ENWP, as long as I keep the site on the "adblock" exempt list for firefox browser. -- Barliner  talk  20:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

RFA thanks change

Dear Huji,

Thank you for your participation in my RFA which closed successfully with 19 supports and 1 oppose which didn't count since it was made by a sock of a banned user. If you have any comments, concerns, or any suggestions for me as an Administrator, feel free to leave a note on my talkpage. Thank you.  Lights  talk  13:42, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Retirement from VGA change

Hello Huji, I came to [officially] announce my retirement from the VGA workload and that I no longer plan to help contribute to more VGAs. No, I'll still be active on this wiki but I'm just leaving my job to maintain and create VGAs. Just to let you know, --§ Snake311 (T + C) 22:15, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

P.S. Initially, I planned to post this up on simple talk, but rather put it here to avoid further dispute among other editors. Sorry for the inconvience if it has caused:)

I'm sorry to hear that. I (at least partially) understand what made you do so, and hope there is a chance for you to find yourself (in near future) in a mood to reconsider your current decision. Untill then, I'll be happy having you doing the rest of things (other than brining up VGAs). Cheers, - Huji reply 13:54, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

68.224.239.145 change

Can I point out that this Ip that you banned is also banned on several wikiprojects, see en:User talk:68.224.239.145.

81.159.72.105 15:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, thank you. - Huji reply 21:44, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Uh, why would an anonmyous IP user request another anon IP user to be banned from this wiki. Not that I am against the ban or anything but just wanna know. Because I have never seen IP users do such things. Cheers;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:40, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't think he has requested 68.225.239.145 to be blocked. It was blocked before this messages was added to my talk page (and I was not the admin who blocked it, even). I think this is an effort from a En WP user (who doesn't have an account on our wiki) to let us know about the status of the same IP on another wiki, and as an informative comment, it is appreciated. - Huji reply 09:24, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Happy New Year change

Just wanted to drop by and give you best wishes on 2008. Happy New Year;) --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:44, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! Although in our calendar system, the new year starts on March 20th, it would be a pleasure for me to celebrate the Christian new year too. :) - Huji reply 09:13, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear Huji/Archive 6.
I'd like to thank you deeply for participating in my RfA, which came out successful just today.
I'm happy to say that I'll be more active than ever now, and that any page that needs protecting or any vandal that needs blocking will be done so (unless someone beats me to it!). If you have any comments to make, concerns or even critisism, then please leave a message on my talk page.
Gwib -(talk)- 00:45, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Congratulations for the new responsibility! From now on, you can do the QDs yourself, instead of marking them for us! - Huji reply 08:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

but... :( change

surely if I spent so much time making it pretty and nice, then just reverting them was wasting the resources? because there was no need to revert them, as they made it appealing to a reader. There is no policy saying you are not allowed to make things different colours... if there is, then I will stop... but I can't see any valid reason for deleting all my hard work. The colours will make you happy :) and they will spread love. here, have some love ... there... you feel happier and more loved already? Ben.(Talk).(Changes) 19:47, 3 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

But if there is no policy on the matter, I dont see why any of you have any right, just because of your positions to go round reverting my prettyful edits! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Page protection change

I have protected your user page, after removing a message which might be an IP from User:Kay Körner. I don't known if you want to RFCU the two main IP address and the user account with a view to blocking kay körner, it does seem the account has stopped after the long argument about simple english. --Bärliner 22:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

HotCat.js gadget change

Are you getting a bug in hotcat that only allows you to change one category at a time? On commons I can add several categories and it will autosave on clicking OK rather than opening the edit screen.--Bärliner 23:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not regularly editing on commons, and I haven't used HotCat there at all. I'll take a look and try to update our JS codes to work like theirs. - Huji reply 07:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I just checked Commons. It doesn't allow me (with Firefox at least) to do more than one cat at a time, and it does open the edit screen requiring me to click the save button. Are you experiencing something else? What browser do you use? - Huji reply 12:40, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

My RfA change

Why should I be angry to you? What I meant there was that "your decision of waiting more and gathering more experience is a fine decision". Sorry if it was too short to bring the meaning. Truely, - Huji reply 08:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Question about images change

So what the heck am I supposed to do if I have a copyrighted image that has to be there to illustrate and can't be uploaded to commons? For example, the Raw logo, and the WWE logo. What ami supposed to do there? I think ya'll need to rethink the simple english Image Policy, Cause there's some that just have to be uploaded to the project.--ChristianMan16 18:58, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It has been policy for a long time. Also, couldn't you always send an email to the WWE asking if you can use their logo on Wikipedia? Razorflame 19:00, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
According to WP:IMAGE on english that still wouldn't make it free use.--ChristianMan16 19:22, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You gonna answer?--ChristianMan16 20:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
We don't have enough users here to make sure that we are accurately following fair use laws. If we allowed uploads, we'd be spending an enormous amount of time making sure the uploads are legal. So we use Commons. You should upload your image to Commons. If it's not allowed there because of fair use laws, it wouldn't be allowed on English Wikipedia either. (And by extension, even if we allowed image uploads here, we couldn't have un-free images). Please accept that uploading images would not be useful to our community now, or perhaps ever. · Tygrrr... 21:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Tygrrr for answering it. - Huji reply 21:18, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
So what am I suppose to do with articles that need logos?--ChristianMan16 21:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
If any article "needs" a logo, you will have to find a logo that fits with the rules for uploading to commons. It will have to comply with the rules for being on this site in exactly the same way that any text anyone writes has to comply with the rules. --Bärliner 22:01, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think I go around it. Check it out.--ChristianMan16 23:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is also possible to give a link to the logo, for example to the English Wikipedia version. - Huji reply 07:48, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

hello huji change

recently there have been talks of banning me. And i actually do now understand why you all feel this way. I acted without thought, and talked too much on talk pages rather than just getting on with editing articles. I am genuinely sorry for having taken so long for this to click in my head. however, I would like to try to move on, and if you check the propositions I have made on Tygrrr's talk page, I hope that you will at least consider that I really do want to try to edit constructively, and my propositions for such a long term plan to show that I am trustable must surely show how sincere I am about giving things another go. Thank you. Benniguy talkchanges 19:41, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Benniguy, it is always good think if you are helping us more than making troubles? Perhaps this is not the best time for you in your life to contribute to a serious project like Wikipedia. I was young too, and I was at some point, far from able to edit in Wikipedia and follow it rules; so I didn't! I waited till I got more experienced. Maybe you should do so as well. Bot help change

Whenever I try to run my interwiki bot with the command -start, it checks a bunch of things that say: Checking special:allpages <name of article> and then when it does that do about 15 different articles, nothing happens. Do you know of any reason why it would do something like this? Razorflame 16:34, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

It checks Special:Allpages because it gets the list of pages from there. It usually gets a list of 60 pages. As an interwiki bot, it is very possible that it'll check a page (i.e. spends arround a minute to check all other relevant pages on other wikis too) and finally finds out that the interwikis don't need to get updated, so skips to the next page in the list. - Huji reply 16:44, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
It checks the Special:all pages, but it then doesn't start to work through the list of pages. It just says nothing left to do whenever I type in start. Every single time it does the same thing, no matter what I do. Razorflame 16:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Make sure you're using the latest version of pywikipediabot. Then use python interwiki.py -start:! and tell me the results. - Huji reply 09:57, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wait...I have to add the :! after the interwiki.py -start? If that's the case, then that would be the reason why it wouldn't do this otherwise. As for using the latest version, I update my version daily, so that shouldn't be the problem . Thanks for the help otherwise! Razorflame 22:09, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes you have to. The -start parameter needs to know where to start. So -start:! means it should start form articles starting with ! (exclammation mark) (which means, start from the beginning) and -start:Z means it should start form the first article which start with Z. - Huji reply 19:53, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I typed that in after updating it with last night's build, and it is still doing the same thing as it was before. What could I be doing wrong? Razorflame 19:54, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Make sure you're logged in. Then paste exactly what you type to run the bot here. If you can, paste all the text bot returns in, say, 3 minutes working, to http://rafb.net/paste and give me the link. - Huji reply 20:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
It won't let me copypaste what my bot says, because it won't give me a cursor. Somehow, I don't really know what the heck is going on here. Razorflame 01:25, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where are you running your bot? On your machine or on a remote server? Linux or Windows? - Huji reply 11:47, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for hiddencat fix, questions change

Thank you for putting in the hidden parent category fix! I assume this is the same Huji=Hojjat as on bugzilla.

I want to help out with more patches like this, and I want to help review other people's patches. How should I do this? I read wikitech-l, en:WP:VP/T, and run a constantly up to date mediawiki for work (so it is important to me that mediawiki works!). What else should I do?

I think the simple english wikipedia is a very good thing. Is there a javascript tool that will highlight words that are not simple English? I write to people who speak english as a second or third language. I would like to write so that they can easily understand me. I would like it to be easy to write as well, so a "spell-checker" for simple english would be helpful. It would be good if the tool knew about scholarly simple english as well.

Thanks again for the mediawiki fixes, and thanks for any help with my questions. JackSchmidt (talk) 18:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I'm Huji on bugzilla. Here are a couple of answers for you:
  • It is not a good idea to run a production wiki based on latest revision. It is fine for development wikis, but for production wikis, this is not the best practice. Wikimedia, for example, always runs on a recent (but not latest) version of MediaWiki. Core developers (Tim or Brion) make sure the revision they are upgrading Wikimedia wikis to, is secure enough, before "scapping" them.
  • About reviewing patches: If you mean the patches that are not yet applied, then you have to search bugzilla for bugs which have a patch attached to them, or have been marked with the keyword "patch". If you mean the applied changes, then you should join (or otherwise, check) mediawiki-cvs mailing list.
  • I don't know of such a Javascript tool. It should be fairly easy to right one, although it will take some time. After all, the whole list of Simple Egnlish words (BE 805, BE 1500, etc) is easily available. I'm not personally interested in this task, but if you started creating such a tool and got stock somewhere, you may ask me for help :)
Cheers, - Huji reply 07:14, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I was wondering how to create a diff that can be added as patch for bugzilla, I'm guessing that I would need something like TortoiseCVS right? Oysterguitarist 23:28, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Never mind I got it, now I can submit patches! Oysterguitarist 04:08, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your comment change

I just want to ask you about your comment on my RfA. You said that you don't think that I know everything that I need to know to be an administrator. I just wanted to ask you if you would be willing to extrapolate on that point for me? Could you tell me what specifically you think I don't know right now so that I can work on these points to become a better user on this Wikipedia? Thanks, Razorflame 15:59, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure! Why not?
First off, please make sure you've read my reply on User:Snake311's comment on your current RfA page. I hope you fully understand that my voting against your becoming an admin now implies an expectation of your becoming ready to be granted the tools later.
About the requirements, some of them are already mentioned by User:Tygrrr, perfectly. I'm not so active on any wikis these days (personally too busy), but every now and then, I notice an overreaction from your side. I don't say being overreactive is necessarily bad, but I think it doesn't fit with adminship easily. I can remind you of the short period were you appeared on IRC and modified the way SWBot3 reported edits by one of the blacklisted editors of the time; your modifications did annoy a few other people who monitor Simple English Wikipedia through the IRC channel. Another example would be your rapidly progressing towards {{test4}}, which is already mentioned by User:Browne34.
My understanding is that, in some cases, you (perhaps unintentionally) race in fighting vandalism. We don't race here: a vandal edit my be reverted hours after it has taken place, because no-one noticed it in time. I think you've already figured out that some vandal IPs stop as soon as you leave a warning for them. I also think you've already noticed how "polite" and "soft" our warning messages are. I expect you to sum all of these yourself and reach a conclusion, because it won't help if I give the conclusin to you.
All in all, I think you're a good user. All you need is to review your activities yourself, give them second thoughts, and improve.
Best regards, - Huji reply 08:56, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for leaving such a nice message for me. Whenever I revert vandalism, I give a user a warning. When I give a user a warning, it doesn't mean that I so called race to warn them; in fact, before I even undo a vandalizing edit, I first check to make sure that it is a vandalizing edit. After I check that out and it turns out to be vandalism, I revert it and then warn the user. I can understand why Brown34 thinks that I progress to test4 so quickly, but the only reason why that sometimes happens is because they keep on vandalizing within minutes, so that's why it goes from test1 to test4 quickly sometimes. As Brown34 says that he thinks I warn users too much, this is what I have to say to him: isn't that what the templates are for? Aren't the templates for using to warn users who vandalize this site? I can't help it how sometimes certain IP addresses vandalize 4 times in a matter of minutes. Cheers, Razorflame 16:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Now that you've focused on the use of warning messages, I'm going to focus on them too (although the way you use them is not a big concern of mine, and I accept people have different style in warning vandals). It is true that the templates are there to be used for warning vandals. In fact, you can even warn a vandal without using a template (I do sometimes). However:
  1. When I said race, I didn't mean moving from test1 to test4 rapidly; what I meant was about trying to post the warning message AsAP. Neither you nor me have been IP vandals, but we can understand their behaviour over time; part of their behaviour is that they don't notice the "you've got a message" box soon enough, sometimes. So it is fine to give them a little more time. They may vandalize two or three more pages, which is not a big deal. We will revert/undo them, no matter they've been warned with a test4 or a test1. I know some admins (on this and other projects) who even tend to let the user vandalize a little more after the "final" warning, just to make very sure that they are not going to respect what we requested from them, at all.
  2. You said "before I even undo a vandalizing edit, I first check to make sure that it is a vandalizing edit". Well, it is typical, and you shouldn't have done anything else! It also an easy task to accomplish, most of the time. You just hit the "diff" link and notice the nonsense added. :) So you see, doing what you mentioned doesn't have anything to do with the "racing" I talked about. If you don't do that, you may be faster but you'll start to have false positives, and for that, you may start to get into trouble. This is exactly what you (wisely) avoid. :)
So in short, about warning vandals, it is okay to warn them, but — not because we ask you, but because that is how vandals should be treated: — you should also give a little time before proceeding to the next level, sometimes. (This is not a rule, and may not be necessary in some cases).
I repeat, the way you use warning templates is not a big concern of mine, and has had little effect on my decision about your current RfA. Nevertheless, it is okay if we talk about it and learn from eachother :) - Huji reply 19:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copying change

If somebody copies and pastes from EN without attribution, please don't tell them off for not using simple English but for the rather more serious matter of copyright infringement! Wikipedia articles are not to be copied willy-nilly, even across languages: they are the copyright of the authors who wrote them and this has to be respected. Thanks. --Kingboyk (talk) 15:24, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

There are a few things to consider:
  1. Content "can" be copied from one Wikimedia project to the other, as long as GFDL requirements are met.
  2. There seems to be an unwritten agreement in Wikimedia projects, that copying content (articles, tempaltes, etc) from one project to the other can take place without full attribution of all authors, as long as a link to the original copy (ie, an interwiki link) is given. I'm not sure how correct it is, but it is being practiced, seriously.
  3. From the copyright point of view, there is no difference between, say, an "article" and a "template" to be copied. In practice, we act more strict about articles.
  4. Last but not least: Most people who are involved with the "willy-nilly" copying acts, are not good enough when it comes to copyright and copy-left. I assume they understand "simplification" more easily.
Hope this helps, - Huji reply 16:08, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Javascript problem change

If you get a free moment or two, would you mind checking my .js and see if you can figure out where I am an idiot? There is a slight problem with the Bot rb section. It is all of 4 lines of code and what should be the harder of the group is the one that actually is working. The goal of the script is simple: on User or User talk pages, add the toolbox line Brollb which calls up a URL based on the username of the page. The URL works fine. The problem is that it only adds the toolbox line on subpages in the User and user talk namespaces, not the actual User and User talk pages themselves.. The problem may be in the trimming of the title to use as the variable "username", but as I stole that snippit, I am not entirely certain if it is there or elsewhere. Any help here would we appreciated.

Also, I took care of the problem with the last-difference gadget. It was only an extra mg-variable in the called address. A little trial and error, but I figured that one out at least. -- Creol(talk) 06:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for fixing last diff gedget. Regardless of how you found the solution, you did well! And for your monobook.js, I'll take a look and post on your talk page. - Huji reply 12:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot for the fix. -- Creol(talk) 18:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you wouldn't mind change

If you wouldn't mind, could you please review the scripts in my monobook and turn them into gadgets? if not I'll do it, but I'm not sure how, thanks Oysterguitarist 21:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure. I will review them, and change the ones that are possibly going to be wanted by many other users into gadgets. If you like, I can remove them from your monobook afterwards, so you can use the gadgets instead. - Huji reply 21:25, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I'm having problems with changing the amount of times it makes a request. Oysterguitarist 21:27, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
There are a few changes that need to take place to make your codes more useful. Meanwhile, can you tell me what they are used for exactly? - Huji reply 21:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It creates two toolboxes, they both use AJAX to get the ten most recent edits and new pages and displays it in those boxes, and updates it every five seconds. Oysterguitarist 21:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, when ported to a different wiki, they don't work. This is not good, and as one of the factors I (often) take into account when creating a gadget is to make sure it is easy to port to other wikis, I need to work on it for a while. It is a bit late now, and I have to get up early tomorrow. I get to it later. - Huji reply 21:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks. Oysterguitarist 21:41, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I figured a fast way to do all the fixes, so "wish granted" :) - Huji reply 21:54, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that was fast :) Oysterguitarist 21:55, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

(unidenting) Next to the diff link in MediaWiki:Gadget-recentchangesbox could you put the contributors username/ip please it will be easier to determine whether or not to check it by knowoing whos it is first. SwirlBoy39 22:07, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The recent changes box is stuck on Jesus. SwirlBoy39 22:09, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's not stuck, there's just been multiple changes to it. Oysterguitarist 22:12, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Could you add this template to Vandal Warner? When clicked you get a popup to enter a page name. Thank you! SwirlBoy39 14:18, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, Vandal Warner is getting too big. I'm going to write a page about it, and how to costumize it (and of course, I'm going to make it costumizable!) - Huji reply 16:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Done Now you can customize the gadget. Read Wikipedia:Gadget/Vandal Warner for help. - Huji reply 19:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Any idea what I could do differently to just get my customized options? Also, is there a way to get it to sign with {{subst:user:tygrrr/sig}} ~~~~~ instead of ~~~~? Thanks for adding this gadget, btw. It makes life so much easier now that my whack-a-mole game is gone. :-) · Tygrrr... 20:11, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Creol has fixed the listing problem. · Tygrrr... 20:40, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Having it add {{subst:user:tygrrr/sig}} ~~~~~ instead could probabley easily be done. Oysterguitarist 20:41, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
The sig problem has been fixed as well. Sorry for the (now random and unnecessary) conversation on your talk page. :-) · Tygrrr... 22:29, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Part 1 was easy enough - I just had her monobook.js redefine the array to clear out any information already in it then let it add it's own info.
Part 2 took a little work - replaced the default signature with a variable and set the variable (VandalWarnSig) equal to the default (~~ + ~~\n). Now the variable can be reset in each person's .js to customize it however they want. There is likely going to be issues though with the users js pages trying to wikify the text. I tried using nowiki tags around the variable but that did not seem to work. It showed up nice and unwikied on the page, but was not accepted by the script as an acceptable variable and it defaulted back to the base setting. -- Creol(talk) 07:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but I can't see why you'd like to copy the whole code, instead of using the Gadget? If there is a feature you need (like custom sig) we can add it to the gadget :)

And, just to make sure you've all noticed it: the customized list of warnings is set by the array named WarnVandalCustomItems. - Huji reply 18:47, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier. The reason I prefer it to be listed in my toolbox as the template name is that I don't think of the warnings as "please stop" or "don't remove", I think of them by their name. For me, it's just something else to memorize and it's almost like translation for me (in other words I have to think: "I want to warn with test3, which one is test3? Oh yeah...") I just feel like I can fight vandalism better and quicker this way. · Tygrrr... 16:29, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I did not trace the links back (I went to Mediawiki:Gadgets-VandalWarner, but didn't think to go to Mediawiki:VandalWarner) and missed the customization section. Oddly enough, both ways performs the same, mine is just a little less efficient (extra line of code needed). I was just going with what Tygrrr gave me, so I'm just going to blame the whole thing on her. :) -- Creol(talk) 16:46, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey, don't blame me, I don't know any better! I'm like a lost little child fumbling in the dark on these kinds of things... :-P Seriously though, if there's something I did wrong, you've got my full permission to fix it. I read the customization section on Wikipedia:Gadget/Vandal Warner but I guess I didn't get it. · Tygrrr... 16:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is not that you've done something wrong, honey. It is like, ... there was a better thing to do. I'll handle it for you. I'll upgrade Vandal Warner, and customize your monobook.js so it'll use your naming of the warnings and your customized signature. When the time comes, I'll ask you to purge your browser's cache and enable Vandal Warner from Special:Preferences, so the new settings would take effect. - Huji reply 19:37, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I see you accidently took out my toolbox links as you were removing the old code for whack:
New categories
New pages
Pages w/o interwiki
Uncategorized pages
Wanted categories
I would like to keep these. Do I need to keep the rest of the whack code in order to do this? I haven't purged the cache just yet so I don't lose those. Thanks for working on this! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help... · Tygrrr... 20:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Perfect :-) Thanks again for your help! · Tygrrr... 22:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bot help deux change

Two questions for yah:

  1. How can I make my bot User:Darkicebot, automatically put the deathyr template onto the tops of every single deathyr category please?
  2. How can I make my bot put on template:HDS to all municipality pages that it is applicable to?

Thanks to the answers to these two questions in advance!

Seeing as I am not able to get on here often as I have been able to in the past, can you please leave your reply on my talk page please? Thanks, Razorflame 21:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Creol has taken care of the first question for me. Razorflame 18:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm less involved with Pywikipediabot these days, and I can't remember if what you request (template addition) is possible using one of the scripts comming with the bot by default. To me, the solution is to write a special bot script which does that. But I'm not sure if you can do it, since it needs certain level of Python understanding. - Huji reply 18:50, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
You are right. I would not be able to do such a thing. Thanks for the help Huji :) Razorflame 18:53, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikiedia talk:Gadget/Vandal Warner change

I noticed that the word Wikipedia was not spelled correctly in the title of the page Wikiedia talk:Gadget/Vandal Warner. I don't know if that will mess up which namespace it is in or not so I though I would let you know. I'm not trying to be rude or anything :) --From-cary (talk) 08:37, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rude?! This wasn't rude. It was indeed generous to let me know of that. The correct address of the page is: Wikipedia talk:Gadget/Vandal Warner - Huji reply 14:21, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Problem has been located. I added the error returned and a workaround to the talk page (also, I corrected the link on simple talk). -- Creol(talk) 18:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Fixed the problem. Oysterguitarist 21:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
