Hello FNAFPUPPETMASTER, I don't think there is a point in tagging article here with that tag. People just tag article and leave it be for years and page just looks bad so please don't do that unless it is absolutely necessary. I was really surprised to see a tag appear just 2 minutes after creation.--BRP ever 05:05, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello, just a heads up, if you wish to use the bot or edit with the account, do file a request at Wikipedia:Bots#Bot_approvals. Regards,--Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 15:55, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Camouflaged Mirage: I'm planning to get the necessary tools to actually start working on making the bot & running a few test edits (basic changes) on Test Wikipedia and demo edits (what's actually supposed to be done) on this wiki (likely on its own user page) before launching the request for a bot flag. rollingbarrels (talk) 04:50, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @FNAFPUPPETMASTER: people may not appreciate any bot unauthorized bot edits here, even if it's just to its own user page. My bot account isn't even attatched to this wiki. Not saying it's guaranteed to be bad, just wanted to warn you in case :) Computer Fizz (talk) 04:53, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Computer Fizz: Thanks, I was planning to get community consensus on Simple talk after running the test edits but before the demo edits, so it should be fine. rollingbarrels (talk) 05:07, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @FNAFPUPPETMASTER: ST isn't the place to ask in this case, you should ask here. Computer Fizz (talk) 05:10, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks. rollingbarrels (talk) 05:12, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Computer Fizz for the detailed explanation, my thoughts are the same. I will suggest not using the bot at all until approved or a request is being filed. Regards,--Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 07:01, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Camouflaged Mirage:@Computer Fizz:Just waiting for my toolforge membership to be approved, then i'll make the request.
- Request was denied, going to make the request for a semi-automatic bot until I can self-host it.rollingbarrels (talk) 21:49, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

I might be able to help you more if you explained what this bot is actually going to do, "housekeeping" isn't really much help in this case. Can you try to be more specific? Computer Fizz (talk) 22:05, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Computer Fizz: When the bot first begins editing, the tasks i'd like to do are small, clean-up related tasks, as such, "Housekeeping"
These are:
- Add and remove {{pp}} templates
- Add Local Block templates if the blocking admin hasn't put a block template in 60 minutes, and if an account has edited on the simplewiki, place a {{locked global account}}on their userpage
- Archive Requests for checkuser that have been tagged as closed (I'm planning to create a template for the bot to look for) so that only Current requests show on "Current requests for checkuser" — Preceding unsigned comment added by FNAFPUPPETMASTER (talk • contribs)
- The first one sounds useful and I'd support that. For the second one, it should only do this for canned summaries. LTAs should not be given a block notice, and in the rare case that a long-time editor has been blocked, most likely a template would not be added by the blocking admin which would result in your bot kicking in (when it shouldn't). With these, I don't see why you'd wait 60 minutes. There is already a tool for the third one I believe. If you proposed it under these conditions, I'd support having a bot that does this. Computer Fizz (talk) 22:45, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Computer Fizz: I would have waited 60 min because you undid one of my edits saying that only blocking admin should place templates, so i would wait until i knew that they wouldn't add it. For the 3rd, if there is a tool it hasn't been working, its been manually archived. I agree with you about it being used for canned summaries. rollingbarrels (talk) 22:58, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @FNAFPUPPETMASTER: Waiting 60 minutes likely wouldn't change anything. Either a template should be placed, or it shouldn't. It'll depend on what the closing crat decides, how the policy is going in the future. But if you know that the admin isn't going to want one added, then it probably shouldn't be added by a bot. The only case I can see that being useful is admins that forget to put blocked templates. Anything that's not automatically archived already is probably manual for a reason. Computer Fizz (talk) 23:05, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Computer Fizz: So, I should only create a request for a bot to add page protection icons and remove them, correct? rollingbarrels (talk) 23:14, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- You can ask for whatever, just that it might not get approved. The protection icons is definitely a good idea though. Computer Fizz (talk) 00:13, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article template
FYI, I removed the categorization from User:FNAFPUPPETMASTER/Drafts/Template because we don't have a draft system and because we don't categorize user pages. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:17, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
Just a note
Hello, do not change other users comments, even if they did not use the templates for RFD. There is no need for templates in RFD. Thanks much.--Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 16:58, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks for the heads up. rollingbarrels (talk) 17:23, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you!
I noticed I made a massive mistake on the Mario Wikipedia page, and had deleted a large section of content. I'd like to give you a thank you for fixing this error, and assuming good faith in me. It is truly appreciated, as I am attempting to contribute the best to this site (Even with some clear mistakes.) So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for fixing this error of mine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.180.116.2 (talk • contribs)
- Hi, and i'm sorry, I believe that you have the wrong person, I haven't ever edited on Mario. rollingbarrels (talk) 18:03, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
Block notice
Please don't add block notices. Sometimes admins don't add them on purpose. If you aren't the blocking admin, do not add them. -DJSasso (talk) 15:32, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
