Hello, MKil, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  02:33, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, good to see you here. I hope you enjoy your time here; it's a whole lot quieter than the English WP and free of those pesky trolls. Cheers, PTO 20:38, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Civility

change

Please be kind. Do not write personal attacks in your edit summaries. You can and will be blocked if it becomes repeat behavior. Thank you. · Tygartl1·talk· 00:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Follow up on Civility

change

I am strongly warning you not to call me different names or I will not forgive that very easily and make sure you get reported. OK. Do not simply say I can not touch your comments, I am not. Get in touch with me directly (not on talk pages), we may resolve everything you may disagree with, but I was told you had serious problems with other boxing fans and I believe them. You lack civility big time. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Rules and this included ignorant personal attacks against me. Freddy

General comments

change

I will tell you what I told Freddy. I am not on your side or Freddy's. It would be great for the situation to be resolved civilly. Freddy is offended that you have called him by other user names. You may believe that has gone by those names in the past, but since he is going by Freddy here, please call him that. Also, please only make comments on talk pages as to edits he has made here under his user name of Freddy. I am going to ask you for a favor. Doing it would help show that you are trying to resolve this manner nicely. I am asking that you remove any instances of calling Freddy by another username on Talk:Rocky Marciano. I would really appreciate it. I assure you that myself and the other admins are looking into the situation. Thank you. · Tygartl1·talk· 16:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll call him Freddy here, as you wish. However, this user has been very disruptive over on the English Wiki. You are only getting a small taste of it here. I'll play nice in the hopes that it can be resolved civilly. MKil 17:00, 7 May 2007 (UTC)MKilReply

Done, no problem, I am not bothering Mkil and I never did but calling me names is very unprofessional but I want all my names to be removed by this individual not only on marciano page, I do not want to be called by any other name and I believe there is no place for this individual here. Evidence speaks for itself. As far as other big wiki goes, we are talking about simple wiki, if you check mkil's history there, he was the one who caused all the problems in the first place with similar edits. Rocky Marciano decision

change

Hello MKil,

The administrators have been discussing the Rocky Marciano article, and Freddy's information seems to be correct. I've now protected the article so nobody except administrators can edit it, so if either you or Freddy need to discuss it, please use the talk page.

We think it's best if everyone just forgets this whole thing. If there's any more personal attacks or anything else like that, we will delete the Rocky Marciano article and start over. It would waste so much of our time, we're better off starting over with neither of you two involved. If you actually did do something like that, we'd probably start blocking as well. Any administrator can make that decision (not just me). Freddy is also included in this, he can't make attacks against you or try to provoke you, because he'll be blocked as well.

We don't want to block anyone at the moment, so let's just forget all this and build a great encyclopedia. I think it's best if you and Freddy just stay completely seperate now. Thanks! Archer7 - talk 23:26, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to add interwiki links to your pages. Let me know if you have questions on how to do this. Thanks, -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  16:20, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean to add links back to the English Wikipedia? If so, I'll go back and do that. Thanks for letting me know about this. It's not something I've done before (as you've noticed). MKil 16:21, 16 May 2007 (UTC)MKilReply

That and other languages. Looks like you've got it. Thank you! -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  16:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Robert Baker

change

Yeah, just so you know, your edits specifically did not trigger the protection. Freddy's reappearance (99% chance it was him) did. The article will be kept in its current state, unless myself or another admin turn in into a short stub or rewrite it from scratch, leaving out any controversial wording and in simple English. If you want to rewrite it, do so and let me review it and then I can let you save it and re-protect the page. At any rate, it will remain protected for the near future. Thanks -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  19:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info. Freddy is a constant pest, unfortunately. I appreciate the offer about editing the Baker article and may take you up on it in the future. MKil 18:55, 3 August 2007 (UTC)MKilReply
No, you are the pest, Freddy always wanted to fix and correct things, no more, no less@!

Userpage

change

Hey there MKil! I noticed your userpage is a red link, and I am encouraging you to create your userpage so that it isn't a red link anymore. Please consider this. Razorflame 18:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please give more rationale when reverting edits. How is "Freddy" banned? Where is he banned? Why are you reverting him? MC8 (talk) 16:49, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
More to the point, how do you know that users are Freddy? MC8 (talk) 16:50, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Mkil has huge psycho problems, he sees freddy or whoever everywhere,

he was given source FROM THE BOXING ENCYCLOPEDIA www.boxrec.com/media/index.php/Olympic_Auditorium on capacity, yet he will revert most credible sources to make his point, to vandalize, he has been doing that since forever, sad how some people are allowed to do this. Because of people like him it's impossible to edit out of fear of having your hard work reverted, working for nothing!

MKil, do you think it would be worth letting other people revert Freddy & co's edits? If you/he have/has a personal vendetta against you/him, actively reverting his edits will likely escalate into heated comments, which will highten the situation further.
Errorswhat, please tidy up your edits -- make sure they are adequately sourced (use <ref>[http://bbc.co.uk BBC Website</ref> after each edit, changing the URL and description when needed. If they are true, then they should stay. If you are indeed Freddy, I would strongly suggest that you sign in under that name only, and request an unblock -- making sockpuppets to edit will make the situation worse. Regards, MC8 (talk) 17:38, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm fine with letting others revert Freddy's edits, and many people do so. However, articles on boxing don't seem to get as much oversight as other articles. I don't revert Freddy's edits merely because they come from him; I revert them because they are poorly written or factually incorrect. I don't think it's in this wiki's interest to let incorrect or poorly written edits stand. And when I see that he's trying to insert his conspiracy theories in articles like the Stalin or Khruschev article, should I refrain from removing them?MKil (talk) 17:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)MKilReply
They are NOT conspiracy theories, but if Mkil wants to make articles bad, be my guest, it's not freddy's fault he was suspended, his edits were always great, if articles are poorly written mkil is more than welcome to correct them BUT NOT REMOVE PROPER CONTENT, that is fundamental difference!
Poorly written articles can always be corrected. Conspiracy theories need to be checked: is there a way to prove that it isn't real? Prehaps a ==Conspiracy Theories== section could be added? MC8 (talk) 21:30, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

May be, may be not, but arguing with mkil will get nobody nowhere, of course, he has all the time he needs on his hands, so let him argue with himself!

Your edits in Nikola Tesla

change

Hello, you did some edits in Nikola Tesla; there were some changes you edit warred over with User:Kremlinerr. Rather than edit-warring (which does not lead to a better article), why don't you use the talk page of the article to solve the issues you have and make the article better, once you agreed on the text to use? - Thanks --Eptalon (talk) 14:13, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yasser Arafat

change

I saw the reversion you just made to Mount Arafat. As a compromise, do you think we could at least mention that Yasser Arafat was associated with the PLO without saying that he was the president? I think providing at least that much context would be helpful. Kansan (talk) 19:59, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I don't have any problem with that. The main reason for my reversion was that it wasn't written very well and seemed unnecessary. But if you want to note that Arafat is associated with the PLO, that's fine with me.MKil (talk) 20:00, 1 October 2010 (UTC)MKilReply

Okay, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks. Kansan (talk) 21:05, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
