Welcome change

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

If you need help just click here and type {{helpme}} and your question and someone will reply to you shortly. You can also check out the help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page.

There is a lot you can do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that have not been created yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Just remember you can not directly copy them. They must be simplified. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us. Happy changing! As an additional note, we do have a reciprocal blocking policy in effect for blocked users from English Wikipedia. You seem to be a very experienced editor and we welcome your help in helping improve our project. To avoid any conflict, I ask that you avoid any of the topics or behavior that resulted in the block from English Wikipedia. Thank you for volunteering your time and I look forward to working with you on bettering this project. Griff (talk) 19:39, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Griffinofwales: I'm just using the sandbox here for writing purposes since it's a lot easier to do those drafts here (and view their previews properly) as opposed to drafting english articles in my russian wikipedia sandboxes and hoping for the best syntax wise. (If you want to be REALLY helpful, you can change fix the ISBN error in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Danilin_(aviator) (I didn't realize that typo was there when I finished by draft in my russian wikipedia sandbox, and I'm reluctant to ask the copy-paste volunteer to fix it)--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 22:07, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I understand the Cryllic can make it a bit difficult. I would recommend focusing your efforts on the projects you are not blocked on, as any user acting on your behalf on the English Wikipedia could be subject to disciplinary action. Griff (talk) 22:13, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Griffinofwales:All parts of wikipedia, from ruwiki to enwiki, including sandboxes and talkpages, are under Creative Commons licences that allow republication and redistribution. If other users want to republish the translations I make from one wiki to another (especially when I am translating content originally written by them), I can't imagine how they wouldn't have the right to do so. My being blocked on enwiki does not affect the copyright status of the content in my sandbox in other wikis, so others users should be free to copy it around. And if there are individual problems with the content itself (ex, somebody disputes that Sergey Danilin was a navigator, just for example's sake, although if anyone actually did I can only assume they were trolling since that falls under a generally recognized and widely cited fact), that can be brought up for discussion, but as far as I'm aware I don't see how there can be any controversy here. After all, one would expect Wikipedia to want to see those stubs get expanded and fixed, and at the end of the day I'm still not making any edits in English Wikipedia, just producing content different wiki - which is also a compatible Creative Commons platform that other people can copy if they feel like it. Heck, if I published the content with a compatible CC licence on an external site, surely nobody would be prohibited from importing it just because I was the author (after all, lots of content on some parts of wikipedia is sourced from external publications under free licences)--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 22:25, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

October 2022 change

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Neurelec" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 12:15, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, PlanespotterA320. It looks like "Advanced Bionics" was derived from the English Wikipedia or another version of Wikipedia. If that is indeed the case, please make sure you add some form of attribution, either in your change summary or on the article's talk page. This must be done, even for derivative works, or the article will be deleted in time. More instructions on how to do this are at Wikipedia:Transwiki attribution. Thank you.
