Crat chat
changeI would like to note here that as of the 7th day of this RfP (21 May), there were less than the 25 votes of approval as required by WMF-wide OS policy. Were this particular RfP to close on-the-dot on the 7th day, this would have been considered a failed permissions request. Nevertheless, this is not an uncommon situation on this wiki, due to the relatively small community and comparatively wider activity intervals, and thus I move to close this RfP as successful, with the following factors influencing this particular call:
- Precedent in past RfPs for OS/CU: Wikipedia:Requests for oversightship/Fr33kman, Wikipedia:Requests for oversightship/The Rambling Man, Wikipedia:Requests for checkusership/Djsasso 2
- Acknowledgement by members of the community that such extensions do occur: Wikipedia talk:Requests for permissions/Archive 2#Proposal
- Zero oppose votes and zero comments in this RfP

- Agreed. I think we can use common sense here and say that it is undoubtedly successful by any everyday terms. IWI (chat) 12:40, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- Just so you know since these don't happen often. This is a crat chat for crats to determine if there is consensus to close one way or there other, not a general community discussion. -Djsasso (talk) 12:42, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- (change conflict) Unfortunately, I would have preferred not to rely on "common sense" reasoning for a thing such as RfPs. In Wikipedia:Requests for oversightship/The Rambling Man, a bureaucrat at that time did voice their objection to such de facto extensions (which, I emphasize, are not properly defined in policy pages). For that particular RfP, the discussion didn't really take off, as far as I can tell, and it was closed as successful in the end. When this is all done I intend to initiate a new discussion on ST to provide clarity to WP:CFA. Chenzw Talk 12:47, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

- Yep I think we can close this as successful. -Djsasso (talk) 12:41, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Djsasso: I thought that may be the case, but knew my input wouldn't do harm. Sorry about that. IWI (chat) 16:51, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
