The Yusufzai (also spelt Yousafzai and also known as Esapzai or Yūsufī) are a large Pashtun tribe inhabiting several areas in Afghanistan and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. At the present time, a young girl, Malala Yousafzai is the best known member of this tribe globally.
History
changeThe Yusufzai tribe were originally from Kandahār where they migrated from to their main area today being the Kunar, Peshawar and Swat valleys. They are a fiercely independent tribe who did not accept the rule and fought off the powers of the Mongols, Mughals, British, Soviets and Americans.
