The knockout stage of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is the final part of the competition. It starts on August 5 and ends on August 20 with the final match at Stadium Australia in Sydney. In this stage, the top two teams from each group (16 teams in total) compete in a tournament where they play one game at a time.[1] The winning teams continue to the next round, while the losing teams are eliminated.[2] The match times are listed in the local time zone.
Format
changeIn the knockout stage, if a game is tied after the regular 90 minutes, they play extra time. Extra time has two 15-minute periods, and each team can make one more substitution. If the game is still tied after extra time, they have a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
Qualified teams
changeThe two best teams from each of the eight groups will move on to the knockout stage.
