Hello World! Welcome to my user page! I am generally active in Meitei Wikipedia (aka Manipuri Wikipedia) besides others. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask me. In English Wikivoyage, I created a Manipuri phrasebook (aka Meitei phrasebook). Hope it will help people, especially travellers and voyagers to "get by" in Manipur Kingdom (FKA Kangleipak Kingdom).

Linguistic map of India

I am from India. So, I want to highlight something about India to the others.

India is the country with the second largest population in the world, after China. It is interesting to note that Indian population alone exceeds the whole combined population of the entire European continent, South American continent and Oceania. So, in fact, each of the 28 Indian States is just like a single European or South American country, based on population as well as cultural & linguistic diversities. India is culturally a "continent" though it is politically a "country".

There are 447 native languages spoken in India (excluding the languages of the foreign immigrants in India). Among these 447, only 22 languages are recognised as the official languages of the Indian Republic.
