Pramila Jayapal (/prəˈmɪlə ˈəpɑːl/; born September 21, 1965) is an American politician and activist[1]. She is the U.S. Representative (D-WA) from Washington's 7th congressional district since 2017[1]. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and the first Indian-American woman to serve in the House of Representatives.[2] She is the author of Use the Power You Have: A Brown Woman's Guide to Politics and Political Change[3]. She wrote many bills[1].
