  • Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your changes. I just wanted to let you know that if a subject is in one category, we don't also put it in its parent category.
For example, you added Category:Politics of Northern Ireland to an article, as well as Category:Politics of the United Kingdom. The Category:Politics of the United Kingdom addition is not necessary - it is a parent category of Category:Politics of Northern Ireland.
    I hope this helps you with categorisation. Thanks,   --Belwine💬📜 13:15, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, you might want to consider using HotCat. It is a very useful tool for adding categories, that you can enable in your gadgets settings. --Belwine💬📜 13:19, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • Hi. Articles are sometimes related to several categories, for example Belfast Agreement concerns Northern Ireland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. 328904O (talk) 13:23, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, however, we usually don't add articles to two related categories here, despite the fact that they do on the English Wikipedia.
Putting the articles in both categories leaves a category structure like this.
      Category:Politics of the United Kingdom
      Category:Politics of Northern Ireland
      Belfast Agreement
      Belfast Agreement
      Thanks, --Belwine💬📜 13:26, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

RfD nomination of Category:Former Speakers of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom

change

An editor has requested deletion of Category:Former Speakers of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Category:Former Speakers of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. --Ferien (talk) 21:24, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
