Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. User:Rus793 (talk) 20:20, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Society of St. Pius X" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. User:Rus793 (talk) 02:49, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Simplification

change

Continuing the comment in Talk:Society of St. Pius X... Just as an example, this sentence from the article is far too complex:

Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, who is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and also the President of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei", stated on 22 December 2013 that the leaders of the SSPX are in schism, which menas that they are no longer part of the Catholic Church, but that they can be part of the Church again if they change their attitude and accept the Catholic Church's conditions.

Different editors might choose different approaches. Sometimes not every sentence in an article can be simplified. This is one suggestion to simplify (and wikify (link)) several nouns not in Basic English):

On 22 December 2013, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller stated the leaders of the SSPX are in schism. This means that they are no longer part of the Church. They can be part of the Church again if they change their ways and accept the Catholic Church's conditions. Cardinal Müller is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. He is also the President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. (the last two sentences could also be placed in a note)

Go ahead and use the source citations for the various parts of the original statements as verified by that source. Red links, for future articles, are OK in moderation. They are also possible articles you might care to copy to Simplewiki or create based on sources. If you have any questions or would like any help, please ask. Thank you for the advice. I understand now. The article needs simple sentences as well as simple language. I will fix it. Beleg Tâl (talk) 19:34, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
You will see familiar guidelines and policies here but be aware there are some subtle, sometimes substantial differences between the two English projects. In the few instances where our guidelines do not cover a situation, we rely on the English Wikipedia guideline. Use the resources in the welcome message above and remember to ask if you have questions. Our "Village pump" is Wikipedia:Simple talk. You can also ask any questions there or see who can help you with any projects. Good luck with your editing here. User:Rus793 (talk) 20:34, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
