changeWe like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Native American flute" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. If you would like the page restored to your userspace, you can ask any administrator to do that for you. Thank you for your comment on work on "Native American flute". Yes, much of the text was initially copied, but I am working towards simplifying the content ... as always a work in progress. Thank you for bearing with me! ClintGoss (talk) 18:44, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
- OK, then I will restore it so that you can keep working on it. I will put a notice on it to say that it is being simplified. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:54, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for restoring the page. I would have lost the significant work I had put into the page, and I could find no way to retrieve the deleted source text. I do understand that there are standards to be upheld regarding simplification, but there should also be some room (in terms of time) for works in progress. Also realize that the opening paragraph was first sourced on simple.wikipedia.org and *then* copied to en.wikipedia.org - a copy in the opposite direction than you observed (please compare revision histories).ClintGoss (talk) 18:57, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw that the opening paragraph was fairly simple. I was looking at the article as a whole.
- There is room for works in progress. That is done by either putting a template on the page saying that the article is being worked on, or by working in userspace. It will be a good article when you finish, and I appreciate that you are simplifying the entire article instead of removing whole sections! --Auntof6 (talk) 19:05, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Significant work has been done on "Native American flute". Not sure how much more is needed before removing the simplifying template. It would be helpful if you pointed out areas where the page is still significantly deficient.ClintGoss (talk) 18:10, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- OK, I will do that when I get a chance. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:19, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
