Courcelles
Hello! I'm assuming you've popped over from the English Wikipedia, so you're probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay on! Here's a few links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- The help desk, reference desk and village pump- in one page
- How to copy from English Wikipedia
- A very incomplete list of our active editors
There's plenty to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that don't exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you'd like to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need a hand.
Welcome to simple! :D sonia♫ 05:46, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Whoa... You're fast. I had to delete my edit three times to change a single word, as the words I wanted to use were too complicated for here. So I'm not sure I would improve things or be a bull in a china shop with hard words! Courcelles (talk) 06:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not a huge issue imo- hard words can be fixed by other editors or linked to Wiktionary; as long as you're endeavouring to write simply some content is better than no content. (DYK needs some help, if you ever need a vacation from drama :) sonia♫ 07:08, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Vacation from drama! As much as I'd like to, I have a hard enough time remembering all of en's DYK rules, and yours are nothing alike. Might see if there's anything I can do without an "edit protected pages" button, though. Courcelles (talk) 07:18, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- DYK here doesn't have a time limit or expansion limit. The same article can even be featured multiple times with different hooks- what matters is whether the hook is sourced and interesting and the article worthy. :) sonia♫ 08:23, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey
changeHey there, I was wondering when are thinking of appealing my block on enWP? I've had been editing here ever since, still keep getting warned about things that I didn't know. However, I hope you will consider unblocking me. Best, AJona1992 (talk) 22:31, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
- Jona, I opened your talk page back so you could use
{{unblock}}
and appeal to an uninvolved admin, or request an ANI hearing. But you have to actually request the unblock yourself. Courcelles (talk) 22:35, 14 September 2011 (UTC)- Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know. Thanks, AJona1992 (talk) 22:37, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi!
changeHi Courcelles, good to see that you're reasonably active here as well as on EN. I'm sure we could use your expertise and opinions around here. Be sure to pop in from time to time. Regards, Orashmatash (talk) 17:27, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! It's an interesting change of pace :) Courcelles (talk) 17:28, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- It always is ;) fr33kman 23:59, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Zhand38
changeHello this is blocked user Zhand38. I was wondering if you could unblock me globally. I'm not asking to be unblocked completely. It's just that I cannot even log-in anymore and Gwen Gale and many others are trying to hear what I have to say to them without typing on their talk page. So could you please do that? I also forgot to mention that I can't even type on my own talk page even though I can any where else. So overall, I would just like to be able to log-in Thank you. Here is a page that I created for the Cincinnati Zoo, the page I liked to edit the most. http://cincinnatizooandbotanicalgarden.wikia.com/wiki/Cincinnati_Zoo_and_Botanical_Garden_Wiki
Invitation to Medical Translation
changeMedical Translation Project
Invitation to the Medical Translation Project – a joint Wikimedia project started by the English language WikiProject Medicine! Thank you for being one of the top Medical editors! I want to use this opportunity to introduce you to our most ambitious project. We want to use Wikipedia to spread knowledge where it will be used. Studies have shown that Wikipedia is the most common resource of medical knowledge, and used by more people than any other source! We want high quality articles, available to everyone, regardless of language ability. It isn't right that you would need to know a major language to get hold of quality content! That is why in the recent Ebola crisis (which is still ongoing) we translated information into over 70 languages, many of them small African languages. This was important, as Wikipedia was also shown to be the biggest resource used in Africa for information on Ebola! We see tremendous potential, but also great risks as our information needs to be accurate and well-researched. We only translate articles that have been reviewed by medical doctors and experts, so that what we translate is correct. Many of our translators are professionals, but many are also volunteers, and we need more of you guys – both to translate, but also to import finished translations, and fix grammatical or other style issues that are introduced by the translation process. Our articles are not only translated into small languages, but also to larger ones, but as of 2015 this requires users to apply for an article to be translated, which can be done here (full articles, short articles) with an easy to manage google document. So regardless of your background head over to our main page for more information, or to our talk page and ask us questions. Feel free to respond in any language, we will do our best to find some way to communicate. No task is too small, and we need everyone to help out!
