We have a special page that describes how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles. -- Netoholic @ 01:42, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
Authors/Writers
changeCan you please explain what you see is the distinction between your new Category:Writers and the already existing Category:Authors. I think we don't need both. -- Netoholic @ 01:42, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
Hello and thank you. A main reason why I created a category "Writers" is that writer is a simpler word for everyone. On the othe hand, 'auther' is NOT included in BE1500 list or VOA Special English Word Book. I think Writers would make English learners much easier to find ouf people who wrote books. Green 02:14, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
- Fine, and I agree, but you should not leave redundant categories.
- Now, why are you adding Category:Musicians to articles that are already in Category:Singers?
- I suggest you stop categorizing and move on to editing articles. You're making a lot more work for everyone else. -- Netoholic @ 05:46, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
I think we need much more easier way for beginners of English to find out an article; for example a certain book, musician, person etc. One way is to seek from "Categories", but as long as we follow a sample of English Wikipedia (NOT Simple English Wikipedia) it took time fid out an article desired. If we continue to categorize articles more and more, it results in confusion to many people. I hope you will get better way instead. -- Green 07:16, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
- Two points:
- Multiple redundant categories are bad and are MORE confusing.
- Write articles, don't copy ugly text. The VOA says material on their website is free to use, but transcripts probably don't qualify. Even if they did, you did not clean it up before posting it, and did not label the source of it.
- Please stop making more work for your fellow editors. -- Netoholic @ 20:01, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
AS for the first point, please make a page "List of Musicians" instead, as such kinds of pages already exist in en.Wikipedia. As for its samples, see en:Scientist.
To people who do know he or she only from a name of a musician, they do NOT understand there are many kinds of musicians in the world. So that it might be difficult to search a certain musician from related categories, or maybe just a time-consuming.
On the contrary, editers do not know all the musicians availabele here at a glance. As for me, I prefer to find an article from categories; NOT from a mechanical search system on the top page.
As for the second point, you say, "Write articles, don't copy ugly text." - Whether it mey be ugly or not, this will be judge by other readers; mainly by learners of English, not by a single person with native language. To make it simple, these text are written by professionals, so I doubt the reason why you insist so. I also showed a source for it.
By the way, this is a wiki, so everyone can join to edit a page. If every article should be cleaned up completely before postig, most people could not contribute here. You should NOT admit STUB - an article of just one or two sentences according to your logic. -- Green 14:23, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

WikiProject
changeHello, I noticed you speak fluent Japanese and I was wondering if you knew much about Japanese music? Anything ranging from J-pop to traditional enka. If so, would you like to join my Simple WikiProject Asian Music? Even small contributions are welcome. Thanks. Alexhl (talk) 10:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Rock music WikiProject. There's alot of Rock-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help us get this project off the ground and a few Rock music pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks! --Fell on Black Days (talk) 20:02, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Welcome back!
changeI don't know you as I have only been here since 2017, but I see that you were last regularaly active here in 2005. Welcome back to simple, I hope you stick around for a while :) IWI (chat) 08:46, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- I am glad that I got a message like this. Thank you very much. --Green (talk) 09:07, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for starting the article. I've made a few edits such as removing similar sentences that could be merged. I've also removed the reference to Jack Diamond (as Google search for this name leads to another musical artist). I understand you simplified the EN version where it's noted that's his AKA, but I think unless we can source that claim, it's best to keep it simple right now. Also, when adding External Links, please label it as "Other Sites" as that's how they're currently being referred here. Hope this helps! — Infogapp1 (talk) 15:40, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi, 初めまして (はじめまして. This was an interesting article, thanks for starting it. I've just made some edits such as adding the most notable information in the lede/start of the article as this explains why the person is notable. When adding birth and death information, please try to check other biographical articles to see how they format it to give you some idea/inspiration :) So I ended up moving other information on how his career has developed in the Career section. Don't be afraid to add more notable information and simply slice them up into different sections. Also, thanks for taking into account the notes I've sent you yesterday about what to label other sections. I look forward to seeing more of your contributions. また会いましょう (また あいましょう — Infogapp1 (talk) 13:07, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
