Template substitution

change

{{welcomeg}} does not work properly unless it is substituted. J Di 01:51, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, ok thanks for telling me. Now I can welcome people properly! Nancysing 01:54, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion requests

change
  1. Please see our deletion policy for information on how to request a page be deleted.
  2. Your request that the page Battle of Waterloo be deleted was not needed. The page just needed to be reverted from vandalism. It is usually a good idea to check a page's history to see if there is a safe version to revert to before asking for a page to be deleted.

Hope this helps. -- Creol(talk) 02:05, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I had thought it said 'New' on Recent Changes! I'll go check it, thanks! Nancysing 02:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A few things

change

Yes, the "History of animation" page was a candidate for quick deletion. The tags that can be used to mark a page for deletion can be seen here. You may also want to read the Manual of Style before you make any more articles. There are certain rules for formatting on Wikipedia that your articles do not always follow (for example, bolding the article title, adding categories and links to the article in other languages). Let me know if I can help. Thanks! · Tygartl1·talk· 02:11, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, the help pages are so hard to find! Navigation's really an issue...I'll go check it, thanks! Nancysing 02:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have responded to your question on my talk page. · Tygartl1·talk· 01:10, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My userbox

change

Konnichiwa! (In case that isn't one of the Japanese words you know, that's "hello." Could you please give me credit for my Japanese words userbox on your userpage, please? Thanks. Oh, and this may be off topic, and I don't know if I should be adding something like this, but for learning Japanese, you could try Living Language® (Living Language is owned by Random House, Inc.) Here is their website. [1] And here is a link to a search result of "Japanese" in Random House's online bookstore. [2] Panda Bear 20:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and you don't have to buy it from the online bookstore. You can go to a physically existing bookstore to buy it. Panda Bear 02:15, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Hello" in Latin

change

This probably isn't a question that should be asked here, but what's "hello" and "goodbye" in Latin? Panda Bear 03:34, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

That is probably 'salve' and 'vale', 'salvete' and 'valete' when you speak to many people.-Eptalon 09:49, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's correct. Nancysing 13:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I know, i also studied some basic Latin, just be aware, that it is not usually used in letters, at least not in the classical works I have seen. Sorry for simply replying on your talk page, by the way. Should not not have done it. --Eptalon 16:07, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's okay that you replied on my talk page, and I know about the difference in letters too. Nancysing 17:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dogs

change

I checked out your English userpage. You want a dog, do you? Well, here it is!

Cute puppy, huh? Now, if only it was an actual dog instead of just a bunch of pixels. Panda Bear 21:05, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moving a page

change

Hello, Nancysing. To move a page (with the monobook skin), you:

  1. click the tab at the top of the screen that says "Move". (It's to the right of the "history" tab).
  2. When you get to the next screen, see the box that says "To new title"? Type in the name that you want to move the article to.
  3. In the box that says "Reason", type in your reason for moving the page.
  4. Click the "Move page" button

If there is already a page at the title you are trying to move the page to, it will not move the page. hope this helps! Isis§(talk) 21:51, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
