Nishkid64
Hello, Nishkid64, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.
Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.
If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
Good luck and happy editing! Nishkid64 21:25, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: Hey!
changeHello! It's nice to see you here too. New contributors don't come here very often, so it's kind of a big deal around here :D. I hope you enjoy your time here. Cheers, PullToOpenTalk 03:17, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
why
changeyou delete me???????
- Delete you? When did I delete you? I believe I just reverted some edits of yours as they were not truly encyclopedic and were not properly formatted into the article. Nishkid64 22:25, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
User talk:Anthony cfc post regarding User:Anthony cfc
changeGood evening; you posted a message at my talk page saying "...why all the subpages?..."; just to let you know I've posted my reply at (the/my) talk page, user talk:anthony cfc.
Cheers,
Anthonycfc [T • C] 21:01, 27 January 2007 (UTC) 21:01, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, I was just asking, because I saw most of your edits were to your userspace. I've been hanging out at Simple lately when I'm bored of doing admin chores at the English Wikipedia. I noticed that people aren't that hardcore about the project, and I haven't seen people with complex userpage designs, or sub-pages for essays and such. Nishkid64 23:45, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Categories
changeNishkid64, please slow down with the new categories. There's a few things you should know before you make so many category changes. First off, we usually like to make sure that a category will contain at least 2 or 3 articles before we create it. Second, an article should only go in the most specific category. For example, Samuel Adams should go in Category:Governors of Massachusetts and not Category:Massachusetts politicians because Governors of Massuchusetts already belongs in Massachusetts politicians. It is repetitive. Third, all categories also belong in a category. Category:American revolutionaries has not been put into a category. Fourth, for birth and death categories, each category will belong in two other categories. For example, Category:1722 births will belong in Category:1722|Births and Category:1720s births. I have not had a chance to look over the new templates you have created yet. I am going to look over your edits. You will probably see me making a lot of changes. It's great that you want to help out so much and I appreciate your efforts. Please make sure you use caution and make sure your edits are following guidelines. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you. · Tygartl1·talk· 21:09, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Most of the category and template work was taken from the English Wikipedia. Also, Samuel Adams was a governor of Massachusetts, but also a member of the colonial assembly, so both categories should apply (that's how I designed the article at en.wiki; I wrote the entire thing to FA). I assure you that the categories will contain more articles, and all that needs to be done is for the categories to be added to the appropriate articles. As for the categories within categories, well I ended up with a lot of redlinks, so I held out for the time-being. Once I expand the scope of my work, I can hopefully create a main category for these smaller sub-categories. Sorry about the birth-death categories; I was using a category from John Adams as a reference, and I thought that I was doing it correctly. In any case, thanks for fixing any of the mistakes I might have made. :) Nishkid64 22:46, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Btw, I believe I've seen you at en.wiki before (I'm an admin there). Your name sounds quite familiar. Nishkid64 22:46, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's certainly possible you've seen me around there. I definitely am more active over here though. Sorry if it sounded like I was coming down hard on you. My gut reaction seeing so many new cats and temps was just "Whoa, hold up". Since we're so much smaller, we tend to move at a slower pace and big changes like that make a big splash. Anyways, we're glad to have you here. I hope you're happy editing here. · Tygartl1·talk· 02:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

AWB
changeI added you to the access list. Also, with the batch of templates you added recently, most of them are realy in need of simplification for the /doc pages - a good number of them I still have little idea what they do or how they do it. If I am having issues understanding, they are likely too complex for many others as well. :( -- Creol(talk) 22:53, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Most of the templates I created came from en.wiki. I made one template, and then I started getting redlinks, so I went along and followed the chain. I'm not entirely sure what they all do, but apparently they're highly used on the English Wikipedia, so they might have some purpose here in the future. Nishkid64 (talk) 22:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Dictator
changeDo you contend w/the fact that Cheney is the de facto dictator in USA? Truth hurts, duznt it. Do u suport Cheney?
- Let's leave politics out of neutral encyclopedias. I don't like Cheney either, but that doesn't mean you can insert your own opinion into articles. Nishkid64 (talk) 23:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Redirects
changeI was mainly concerned with his redirecting of Hotel California to the Eagles. No other page linked to Hotel California excpet for the Eagles page. The only content on the Hotel California page was the soft redirect. In my interpretation, this is grounds for deletion under Our Deletion Policy, see the Article Section, #2. There were a couple like this. Also, he was changing some hard redirects to soft. If I am remembering correctly the hard redirects were correct. I believe soft redirects should be used very rarely. In almost every case, a redirect should either be hard, the article shouldn't exist, or (on this wiki mainly) an article is needed. - BrownE34 talk contribs 01:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Your userpage
changeI must say, I'm impressed with your new userpage! I admire the skill in creating it, so much that I stole the design for myself! See you... :P Majorly (talk) 16:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Cheney
changeIts not just my opinion. Most of the whole wurld agrees w/me that Cheny is an evil dictator that controls Bush.
- That's not the point of the encyclopedia. We're here to write about facts, not political opinion. Besides, if anything, it's Karl Rove who's controlling Bush, not Cheney (he's a vice president, which has been known to be a "lame" position of power). Nishkid64 (talk) 00:21, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yur right, it is about facts. Fact is LOTS of ppl share my same opinion. It's also a proven truth that 9/11 was put up by the US gov, but u don't say that there even tho its proven. Lol this encyclopedia is a joke and nothing more than Bush's proboganda site writen by tons of ppl. Most of you probly can't see that, poor wikipedian ppl. :(
Thanks :)
changeThanks you for the welcome!!!! bye!!! --Ctrl Z 19:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
I think this page is redundant, because of the century pages. It is very long, and is easier to read in century pages. In my opinion at least. --Isis§(talk) 23:21, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. :) --Isis§(talk) 23:25, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Hà Nội
changeI understand your point, but I feel that diacritics are necessary and can do no harm. All they can do is show the proper pronunciation. Without the diacritics, Hanoi could be pronounced some 1512 ways. Simply by showing the proper spacing between syllables, this can be reduced to 108 ways. The diacritics then eliminate all ambiguity. One irritating example of this confusion is when the letter 'Đ,đ' is changed to 'D,d' in English writing and one can not tell if it is pronounced as an English 'd' or as an English 'z/y'. Though it is not common in existing English writings, I think that names should be represented in their native language rather than as a corrupted foreign approximation. If you really want it to return to 'Hanoi', I don't like it but I don't think I'll change it. Do you think you can settle for Hànội? Thank you for explaining your concern before taking action. -Ionius Mundus 02:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree, but I can do nothing about it. -Ionius Mundus 04:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
You're a user from en.wiki, and I thought you'd know about this stuff a little better than I. Care to help it? It's a horrible sight right now, there should a stub tag. Thanks, --Choosnink TALK 17:24, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

changeDear Nishkid64, I thank you for supporting me in my request for bureaucratship, which eventually did not suceed. Nope, I don't use the word failure here. Failure comes only when you fail to realise, when you fail to continue. It has been a great experience here and I will still continue my job here. I know, it's not that you disapprove of me, but it's that we do not need anymore bureaucrats. Sure, I'm open. I'm really fine with that. I'm sorry if my response came late. School camps and donation drives have geld me up, I'm sorry. Thank you once again!-- Tdxiang 02:40, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
I agree but...
changeYou said "Simple English Wikipedia is supposed to have articles on common subjects". I agree with you, but I don't know why. This is bad. If people have made a consensus on the above, it should be noted somewhere and I'm missing that. Otherwise, we should make such a consensus. What do you think? - Huji reply 13:11, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
