Welcome
changeHello! I noticed that you may have come here from another Wikipedia, so you know a little about how things work here. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! Here are some links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- Where to ask questions and discuss things
- How to copy from another Wikipedia
There's a lot to do here. Most of it is writing articles that do not exist yet, which you can do by translating from other Wikipedias, but have a look around and see what you want to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need any help. Hiàn (talk) 18:36, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Thoughts on 'mulato'
changeAs I explain on the page Mulatto, this is almost universally used in the Spanish Caribbean, and in most cases without its being pejorative, just descriptive. I might add that I speak mainly from experience of Cuba. I feel it is important not to import attitudes from the USA, which are not representative of Latin America. I would almost go so far as to say Cuba's society would collapse were it not for their mulattos! I see En wiki has a long page on mestizo, which is a word Cubans don't seem to use at all. Human
changeThe edit you reverted on human is not vandalism, because bonobos are considered a type of chimpanzee. I will let you decide whether to keep the edit or not. Naddruf (talk) 06:48, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Naddruf: I had my own doubts about that, but as far as I know, bonobos and chimpanzees are different species, although the English word "chimpanzee" can be used for both the common chimpanzee and the bonobo. In this diff an editor having much more experience than I do restored the bonobos. A less serious reason for keeping bonobos: They seem to be much more cooperative than the aggressive chimps, so they might be seen as models for Wikipedians ;-)
- I kind of reverted your edit on Race (biology), if you want to discuss, I'll be of course happy to do so. --Rsk6400 (talk) 18:16, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
- I would presume that the prior revert on human was because of misunderstanding. Bonobos and common chimpanzees are two species, but today the different types of gorilla (Eastern and Western) are also considered two species. But it's okay to mention bonobos, although it's not vandalism.
- About race, you did not revert my edit because you said that "scientists" used to group humans into races, but no longer do. Today, humans are grouped into races, but not by scientists, so the article is now accurate. Naddruf (talk) 18:42, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
circumcision
changeHello I see you reverted all, and you said uncourced , but on the circumcison page it is sourcesd.
also i give the surce
https://pophealthmetrics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12963-016-0073-5/tables/1
--Nalanidil (talk) 13:37, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Nalanidil: I saw that you already solved the problem of the sourcing. Still, I reverted you again because I think that the circumcision status of all those groups is irrelevant. Even the article African Americans, which is the longest one of them, is too short to mention such a detail. To get a first idea of what is relevant and what not, I sometimes look at the English Wikipedia. en:African Americans doesn't mention circumcision. --Rsk6400 (talk) 15:31, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
So what? this here is simple english wikipedia
I give sources, and if you google it, yout will see about circumcision in the USA.
You claim the statistic is wrong? and you claim mostly american white men and african american men are uncircumcised? where is your source ?
Well the majority of educated people know that male circumcision in USA is of a high % level by white non hispanics and African American. Here you can see statistics again:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0025619614000366
But if you are happy to claim other things and removed all my correction...what should I say ?
--Nalanidil (talk) 17:00, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't write it's wrong, I wrote that it's irrelevant. --Rsk6400 (talk) 17:47, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Turcic people
changewhy you changend it? why it is not ok for you that Northern Cyprus is listed there? North
ern Cyprus is not mid. eastern or east europe as you compare. Northern Cyprus is meditterean and the majority of the inhabitants are turks and Muslim roma the Gurbeti subgroups.
Also yu changend the part of religion too. Why?
I see the greek lobby is at work who is against at turkish topics in any case.
--Nalanidil (talk) 14:38, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Nalanidil: In my edit summary, I said "ungrammatical", that means that your additions were grammatically incorrect. They were also unsourced and I doubt whether they are relevant, especially the bit about circumcision. If Cyprus doesn't belong to the Middle East, it is surely part of Europe. Northern Cyprus is not recognized by the international community. --Rsk6400 (talk) 16:52, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
wait a moment...so while the international community didnt reconized North cyprus, it is not allowed to say that Turkish people (Turkish cypriots) and the Gurbeti (Muslim roma subgroup) live there ???
So it is not allowed to say the Men are circumcised?
--Nalanidil (talk) 18:05, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Nalanidil: No, I didn't say that. If you are not able to write correct English and to understand what I wrote, I'm sorry, but you should take a look at Wikipedia:Competence_is_required#Language_difficulty. Rsk6400 (talk) 05:49, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
What is your problem? I forgot to give the source, yet i have give it, as you can see, why you wrote in such a way to me?
Hello?
Reverting
changeDid you bother to look at the picture? As it doesnt exist, I doubt you did. There is also no image of the Juneteenth flag on Commons to replace it with. So are you going to revert yourself or should I. Given that your edit put a broken image up, you should be the one to fix your problem. Pure Evil (talk) 05:27, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
- I just saw and repaired it. But you could have saved my and your time by using a short edit summary. Rsk6400 (talk) 05:30, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
- And you could have saved my time by looking at what was done before reverting. Or looking after the revert. Had you bothered to preview your edit, you could have seen the error category and missing image. Since you failed to look at your edit, you added a broken image and I have to stop fixing articles to deal with your action. Pure Evil (talk) 05:34, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
changeIs there a criteria for speedy deletion for sockpuppets? Special:Contributions/TESS_J1719-2200 is a sock account that vandalizes cross-site and never does anything useful, and if any of their astronomy articles are real (most of them, upon looking them up, I can't find any sources for them), they need to be fundamentally rewritten to serve as articles.
(Also, I'm sorry if this message does not qualify as "simple English", I am not very good at writing simple English, as I usually just choose the first words that come to mind, and I'm unsure how simple discussions need to be) Among Us for POTUS (talk) 06:19, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- Discussions are for editors, and while we try to keep the content simple for our readers, editors are expected to have a certain level of competence in English. So, no need to apologize. I’m neither admin nor expert on speedy deletions. So I’d suggest taking the case to WP:ANI, normally the admins will know when and how to delete it. Rsk6400 (talk) 10:21, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
