Warnings change

Hi ScienceFiction200, when you revert an edit you think might be vandalism, you should give a warning to the user on their talk page (see Wikipedia:User talk page warnings). The addition of the picture that was clearly not that of Paris Smith, for example, would certainly cause an editor to be suspicious. However it may just have been a mistake. I placed a level 1 warning on the IP user's page for the bad edit on Paris Hilton. The level 1 warning takes that into account. They warn vandals but they also guide newer editors away from making edits like this. If the user continues to make similar edits, other editors give progressively stronger warnings (levels 2, 3, and 4) until an administrator decides action is called for. But if editors don't give warnings, there is no groundwork for administrative action. You need to make sure to give the right warning for the situation. Not every mistake needs a warning, but anything that is vandalism or harmful to the project should get a warning. If you don't find the right warning you can ask another editor for help. If you have Wikipedia:Twinkle installed you can use Wikipedia:Gadget/Vandal Warner. If you have any questions you can ask here or at Wikipedia:Simple talk. August 2015 change

Hello, ScienceFiction200! Here at Simple English Wikipedia we use the section heading "Other websites" instead of English Wikipedia's "External links", which you used in "Evan Prodromou". This makes it simpler and easier to read. Please remember to use "Other websites" in articles that you create in the future. Thank you for your help! Auntof6 (talk) 01:17, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
