Mitigating factor change

Hi, I understand your rationale for moving Mitigating factor back, and was not aware of that rule before, so thanks for explaining in the edit comment. My concern is that talking about mitigating factors, with an international focus, for death penalty and non-DP cases is going to make the page too long. So I should keep a page at "Mitigating factor," and then if a page needs to get split off so it's not too long, then split off a page specifically about the death penalty or a page about mitigating factors in the US or whatever? Thanks Fuhvah (talk) 21:08, 30 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello. :) Usually we keep pages named the same because they link across all Wikimedia projects (or rather, across the languages...it makes it a lot easier to locate them), and since we're a type of side project to En, we tend to mirror unless its not possible. Generally there will be a main page, and under each sub topic there will be a paragraph or two linking to another main article. So you can split up anything you'd like as long as the pages exist over there too (since if it exists there, its more likely to already be notable and at least 60% accurate)....and yes this is definitively a large topic. I'd be interested in seeing how things work out over there, because its tagged for a possible merge with Extenuating circumstances. Also, death penalty redirects to capital punishment too. Usually things are changed based on a consensus and as long as everyone agrees, it sticks. Sometimes when working on Simple I go over to En.wiki to get rationale to help over here. Helping with a research project in Simplification change

Hello Synergy,

I'm reaching out to you because I am working on a research project on simplification and am looking to collaborate with domain experts.

A quick introduction: I am a researcher interested in text simplification and am working towards publishing a resource in text simplification based on Simple Wikipedia (quite a rich encyclopedia). We believe this resource, which we will make public, could be valuable to educate and increasing awareness of text simplification.

Some colleagues and I are looking to collaborate with domain experts in the creation of the resource. We've secured some budget for our research project, so there's the possibility to remunerate a few experts that would work with us.

I do not mean to spam you, so feel free to disregard/delete if you feel this is inappropriate (and I apologize). On the other hand, if you are interested, please feel free to reach out, either directly on Wikipedia or by email (phillab@berkeley.edu) and I would be happy to tell you more.

Thank you, and sorry again if you feel this is inappropriate,

Philippe Laban

RfD nomination of Category:Mobsters change

An editor has requested deletion of Category:Mobsters, a page you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2023/Category:Mobsters and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Rathfelder (talk) 19:33, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
