Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback/Archives/2018/April/Notdone

I have had a fair amount of experience on simple wikipedia. I have also had experience using twinkle and now I would like to become a Rollbacker so that I could have better combating ability against vandalism. Ma'az (talk) 03:20, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Not yet. I'd have concerns about you having rollback. Rollback is to be used only for vandalism. Quite a few Some of the QD requests you have made gave WP:QD#G3 (complete vandalism) as the reason, when the page wasn't vandalism at all. The pages needed to be deleted, but they weren't vandalism. An example is Jeff Boomhauer, where the only content was "Boomhauer is a fictional character on King of the Hill. He talks fast." That is not enough to keep an article, but it isn't vandalism. With rollback, it's very important to use it only for real vandalism, and it doesn't look like you identify that accurately. Please keep up your good work, though, and ask again in the future. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:40, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually, not long ago, I dealt with this article. Here, I was told to be more bold and QD instead of RfD. I think that played with my mind a bit. Anyways, no worries, I'll seek more experience before applying. Ma'az (talk) 09:12, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Ma'az: Yes, it's better to QD when there's a QD option that fits. (The case you mention was a case of notability, not vandalism, and rollback is only for vandalism.) However, when you request QD, the final decision on which QD option to use is made by the admin who processes it. We don't always use the one given by the requestor. If you want, I can try to point that out when I do it so that you'll see what I mean. You might also look at the pages you've nominated for QD to see if the option you chose was accepted by the admin. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:19, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I'll look it up. I'll have a further read on all of this. Thank you! Ma'az (talk) 01:46, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a rollbacker and reviewer at en.wiki and I have a good understanding of what vandalism is and how to revert and warn users. For me rollback is more useful as it can be used on mobile unlike twinkle and hence I'm requesting. 1.02 editor (talk) 07:04, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I would like to see more reverting vandalism. I have looked at some of your more recent edits, and very little is Anti-Vandal work, which would indicate that you currently do not have a need. With the fact you do have this right on en.wiki, that will go a long way to granting it, once I see more anti-vandal work. -- Enfcer (talk) 20:30, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Admin, You may feel that i may be crazy by asking this request in early stage it’s been just 5 days i joined Simple English Wikipedia. But i’m one of the most active user here active more than 6-7 hours everyday. I’ve gained some knowledges of Simple English Wikipedia too. As per Rollback req i’m needed to be autoconfirmed so, i’m already that and i will do my best in future to fight aganist vandalism with full of my heart and respect to Simple English Wikipedia. I’ll be thankful to you if you would grant me this request. Simple english wiki is my home and i’m happy to be here and help the communtiy as i can.   Not done It's a little too soon to grant rollback rights. 1st for the length of time that you have been an editor, 2nd any changes you have done, I only see the nominations for QD, and where you notified the creator. You have little or no warnings for users where you have revert vandalism or just bad edits. 3rd you have posted on another admins talk page along with mine, about rollback rights, and now to the Admin Noticeboard. We are a smaller wiki, and not all admins look at the rights pages all the time. With that being said, your quick request for Patroller, and Rollback rights makes me concerned about Hat Collecting. As I had previously wrote to you give it time. We generally require more then just a few days of edits. Once you have been here for a bit give it at least a month or two, then re-apply, and we will re-evaluate then. -- Enfcer (talk) 20:26, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Enfcer: Thanks for the reply ! Ok i will do that. You encouraged me while replying but some poples discourage that’s why i wrote on admin noticeboard. I will do that what you mentioned. I will work on more articles and other vandal things and re-apply after my one month on simple English Wikipedia. Thankyou and happy mothers day . I've had good experience using twinkle. I will like to increase my experience by becoming rollbacker. I will not misuse the new tool(s), and will abide by all the rules and terms of Wikipedia. Ma'az (talk) 01:36, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - We do appricate active editors, but I only see edits marking items for deletion, and no anti-vandal work. We like to see anti-vandal work, and I see you have the New Page Reviewer right on en.wiki, which appears to be a lot of the work that you have done here. Unfortunately, we do not have that right here. I would suggest making use of WP:Twinkle, and the undo, make anti-vandal reverts, and properly warn users, then we can reconsider. -- Enfcer (talk) 21:35, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I have made thousands of changes and here for c.a 1 ½ months on this Wikipedia, and many reverting vandalism and delete bad pages changes. I have good experience using the tool twinkle, but today, the "Rollback" links on Twinkle did not appear. There was many vandalism changes today, but I would use a "rollback" feature instead of undoing the change or reverting manually. If different editors change the page at once, I need to go to the latest non-vandalism edit and click "Change", then add summary and then click "Publish changes". The rollback tool may be very good to use to revert vandalism by one user to latest non-vandalism. I use the tool ONLY on pure vandalism changes and clicking "undo" on good faith changes and non vandalism but needed to be reverted. I hope to get this tool and revert further vandalism. -- Psl631 Leave me a message! my changes email me 11:33, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comments: Notify me on my talk page if I have got the tools or not. -- Psl631 Leave me a message! my changes email me 11:33, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done It's important that rollback be used only for vandalism, but you are not consistently identifying vandalism correctly. For example, you identified the text on Talk:Amazon River as vandalism: there's nothing in "The River Amazon is found in South America" that's vandalism.
And please stop asking people to notify you of things on your talk page. On a page like this one, you should be watching for a reply (possibly using your watchlist). In most other cases, people will ping you. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:47, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6: On the page Talk:Amazon River, i replaced the content with talkheader, but i know, no vandalism, but the text was un necessary.
On my talk page, try I to ping users (that time, I linked to the userpages as plain link) if I want, I try to have the articles/pages on watchlist and so. Please notice me on my talk page if rollback is successfull or not successful. -- Psl631 Leave me a message! my changes email me 12:56, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit summary said "Remove Vandalism/wrong info", and there was neither vandalism nor wrong info.
As far as "if rollback is successfull or not successful", do you mean if your request is granted? I've already replied that it's not. --Auntof6 (talk) 13:03, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, the request is   Not done. When can I request again?-- Psl631 Leave me a message! my changes email me 13:06, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There's no specific amount of time. If I were you, I'd wait until an admin notices that you've been consistently doing good anti-vandalism work and gives it to you without your having to ask. If you don't want to wait for that, then I suggest waiting a few months. --Auntof6 (talk) 13:12, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
At this point I would wait until an admin just gives it to you. -DJSasso (talk) 13:15, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
