Level 3 (harder level) change

Earth is the planet we live on. It has only one Moon. Every 365 days it revolves around the Sun which provides light. Earth rotates so each part of it is in light during the day and dark at night. The Moon revolves but the same side of it is always facing Earth. It has phases of the Moon which are caused by the position of the Earth compared with the Moon and the Sun : if the Earth is between them, the moon appears illuminated and if the Earth is "behind" the Moon, it appears dark. The lunar calendar is based on this.

Earth has air that we live in, water that we drink, and much light reaches it from the sun. Everything alive needs these, so Earth is at least rare, and it cannot be easily replaced. It has many ecosystems that provide nature's services to humans. The value of these, when measured, is natural capital. Unlike any other style of capital, there is no known way to replace this - but it can be improved, regrown, protected, for example by conservation.

Level 6.0 ( Teacher level ) change

The aim of Level 0.5 is to teach some Simple English, using a interesting and worthwhile topic, such as the Earth, as study material.

It is asserted that this is better than trying to mindlessly learn lists of nouns or verbs out of context.

Ideally, Level 0.5 lessons should cover all the words in Basic English, using the minimum number of pages. This is an excrutiatingly difficult task, but the Wikipedia software looks as if it might make it possible. Wikipedia software has lots and lots of cross-links which according to the Special pages can be sorted and view in many different ways.

Do many things at once change

Level 0.5 lessons try to do many things at once, so that you cover a lot of material, yet/but everything in connected together in a meaningful way.

Unplanned/bonus/Gem lessons change

It an author was asked to use the set of word "It is/it's/its" in the one page, the answer would surely be "easier said than done".

But out of the blue, the lesson about "It is/it's/its" turned up like a little gold nugget. :-) :-)

All names for things in Level 0.3 and 6.0 are provision, since this unexplored territory of the English language may turn up better names in the future.

Consider the Two Letter Code for Simple English.
