Mafraq

Mafraq is a city in Jordan. It is the Capital of Mafraq Governorate. It is located 80 km north of the Jordanian capital, Amman, at the crossroads of Syria from north and Iraq from east. It has an air and military base. The Amman-Damascus railway runs through the city. There is only one university in the city, Al Al-Bayt University. The university was established in 1992 and is in the eastern suburbs of Mafraq.
