United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

The United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change is an international treaty, that was signed on 9 May 1993 and entered into force on 21 March 1994. It wants to slow the speed at which the climate of the earth changes. It also wants to avert the risk of a climate change that is harmful to mankind. 154 countries signed the treaty in 1992 in New York. Today, 197 countries are member of the treaty. These countries meet once a year to agree on politics against global warming. first had its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1996, they moved to Bonn, Germany. The agreement officially started working in 1994. The UNFCCC also refers to the organization that helps run the agreement, and they have offices in Bonn, Germany.
