My edits

change

Some time ago you welcomed me and wanted me to be a member here, I was, but I was offended by 2 administrators, can we bring this up and have them removed, you are talking to somebody who had broader knowledge of many things, from a to z, all sciences including natural ones, from humanities to sports to trivia. But Can i email you personally, this will take a long time and there is confusion and controversy. Its up to you if you want to have good editor with deep esoteric knowledge of things.

What does it mean to "know" something as opposed to merely having an opinion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.22.227.125 (talkcontribs) 22:46, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

I am not trying to attack you. I have been at summer school, and have not had time for wiki. But PLEASE accept my apology. I haven't meant to attack you, and this is nothing personal. I just am NOT Egyptgirl26. I am NOT a sockpuppet and it is really unfair. None of these "suspected sockpuppets, and vandals" have begged to not be blocked but myself, and I think that is some sort of proof. SNIPPIT 12:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Discussion from July 2007 to August 2007 doesn't work. Could you please fix it ? LIAM !

did you really do 192 edits in 1 day? that's really awesome! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.208.73 (talkcontribs)

I don't like the time stamp because it is incorrect. One time it said "18:54" which I think is.... 6:54 ? Any ways, it was like 1 a.m. So, I don't use it anymore. Oh, but it happened many times, not just once. LIAM !

Blocking

change

I am just waking up right now. I have been in summer school, and that gets out pretty late. I go at 12 and come out at 5. After that, i eat dinner. My computer isn't in my room, so I can't access it so easily.Once summer school ends I can have more time to edit simple. Please don't block me. It would be unneccessary. VG Article

change

First, I'd like to say thanks very much for the edits you made on Jimi Hendrix, they were useful and thanks to them (and others), it got the Proposed very good article stamp!.
However, I have an ulterior motive (sounds professional, eh?). If you want, would you look one last time over the article, just maybe a quick glance, and then vote on whether or not you think it could qualify as a Very Good Article and would one day appear on the front page of Simple Wiki along with Justin Timberlake and Japanese Tea Ceremonies.
Many thanks,
Gwib-(talk)- 22:38, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I'm not sure if you were talking to me, but on Liams talk page, you said "I'm not sure if you say my message in the "archive" section". If you were talking to me, where is the archive section? If not, please ignore this message.

Is that even a notable person? Oysterguitarist 01:36, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Not sure if you have done all your recent edits (on 17xx articles) by hand or by a bot, but if former is the case, I think it'd be easy to be done using a bot. This way, you can save your time for other important issues as well. How does it sound to you? - Huji reply 20:47, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Userpage

change

How could it be offensive? Ryulong, one of the most abusive admins, says it needed "toning down". Is that a politically correct way of saying "No first amendment"? j. rand|talk| ε contribs|email 03:16, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I see no trouble there. ~~~~ (!!!!) 19:17, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I did not find my userpage offensive. I am not a troll. Please point out what eye-sores that Ryulong was talking about on my userpage. Thank you,

Cyprian - Cyprus

change

I made a mistake. The nationality for people from Cyprus is Cypriot. Cyprian is a saint :). Just thought you'd like to know. --FantasyGal 18:41, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Indeed, I do know who Cyprian is. :) I merely fixed a double redirect. I was planning to creating an article about the saint when I got a chance. Cheers, --Isis§(talk) 21:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

re:Cleanup

change

Thanks for the proposition! I'm always wary about cleaning articles I don't know anything about (eg Love Hina or Liaoning), so I'm glad to know someone else is there and soon this page will be blank! Sorry about my barging in without asking you though, I'll check with other project owners for permission in future.

Thank you! Sorry for the "misunderstanding". I'll get right on working on it! Thanks for the colon - brackets, reassuring :).

Reverting my user page

change

Thanks for reverting my user page; I would not have noticed that change. You did the same thing to my user page, as legend tells you did to Osiris. ;) --Eptalon 13:02, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

No problem. :) I was going to make a few small requests of that user, and found that you already had. :) --Isis§(talk) 13:07, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Do we actually have that story on either the page for the goddess Isis, or for Osiris, or for (not sure?) Seth, or is it considered too offensive, since children may also look at it? --Eptalon 14:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it's offensive, however, if I put all the information I wanted in the articles, they would be longer than this! Perhaps I should go back to the articles in the category "Egyptian gods and goddesses", but I was thinking about doing Norse mythology next. :) I'm sure I'm not the only one here with knowledge of Egyptian mythology! --Isis§(talk) 14:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Regarding this, WOW! The table of contents is longer than most of my pages on Simple!
Gwib-(talk)- 14:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I just asked, because the version of the story I know is not yet in simple. It may also be unsuitable for children; nevertheless the story at en:Osiris#Cult_of_Osiris is pretty accurate. --Eptalon 15:26, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I think I put parts of the story in the Simple English articles, however I don't have time to read through them right now to find out. --Isis§(talk) 18:43, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Nope... I'm not a sci-fi fan... AT ALL :) --:::::::::Lizix::::::::: (u · t · c) 17:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for putting Jimi Hendrix into the voting section! Some people have voted on it already when it was under the Proposed section. Can I move their votes to it under the Voting section? (Eg Huji and Liam voted on it when it was put up for attention, can I move their votes to where they count?)

When something belongs to you, should I say "Isis's property" or "Isis' property"? And what is this type of word named in English? A property proverb? - Huji reply 19:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help creating articles on Japanese poets, and for expanding Haiku, dear Isis! :) I see we have much in common in terms of tastes for poetry - we'll talk more about it, I promise ;) Have a beautiful day! Love, Phaedriel - 14:09, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if we keep that new section or not. I was in a hurry to get those comments/questions off of the page from the IP, don't keep them on account of my revert. If you think the chopspoons should go, you've got my support. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  01:55, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

World History

change

Hello Isis, are you interested in proofreading my writing in World History on the Greeks, and the first part of the Romans (until the fall of West-Rome), and help me come up with something on the 1000 years east Rome, and perhaps a short section on Egypt, and Mesopotamia? Just wondering... --Eptalon 16:05, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

As to the civilisations: I always find that the Mesopotamian ones (Sumer, Babylon, ...) are hard to keep apart (I am not a professional in history). From Europe: Most certainly Egypt, perhaps Carthago, perhaps the Huns, or the Arabs (That occupied the Iberian Peninsula). As to the others: Anything that happened about 1500BC to about 15000 AD. If we end up with many more than 4-5 sections in ancient history, we might want to split further/reorganise. --Eptalon 16:39, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
So go ahead and write, whatever you like about. Once we done this, we can then propoagate the changes into the detail articles, and reorganise this thing. --Eptalon 16:54, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

FYI, I have recommended this article for deletion:

This is an article you had questioned previously.[1]

I just think that maybe (since we already take so many of our rules from En) that we should stick to En policies, none of which say that you can't have a photo of yourself on your userpage. Even Jimbo Wales has a photo of himself on his userpage, although I know it's a bit different since I'm (slighty?) younger than him.
Gwib-(talk)- 22:16, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I see your point (I didn't know he'd been on TV!). I'll see if I can find one of me in a costume or something? Or would that still not count?
Gwib-(talk)- 22:31, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I guess it's for the best... :( Can you wait a bit before deleting my history though? I'll find a couple of images to spruce up the ol' userpage yet.

Personal information

change

I responded on Simple talk. Ionas Rand [i.'ɔ.na.sız tɔk] 01:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I think that Fall of Man is ready to move onto the voting stage, and since you commented on it, would you mind terribly looking over it, just a scan read, to see if everything is in before I move it please?
If it gets though, we will have about 15 VG articles, which is a huge improvment!
Thanks,
Gwib-(talk)- 12:54, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, just ran it through a spell-checker and corrected it. I'm going on holiday so I'll move it to the voting section now so that the vote will be over when I get back :)

World History

change

Hello Isis, I finished Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome; I am now going to fix the few redlinks left in Ancient Rome. If you want, add sections, as already discussed:

  • Ancient Egypt
  • Sumer/Babylon/Ur/..
  • Perhaps the Phoenicians, Carthago, Arabs in Spain, Huns,..

I have also unlisted the article from the proposed very good, as we are actively adding/chanhing things. Shouldn't be too hard to re-list later. --Eptalon 08:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Glad to see you back editing! Remember the "Cleanup needed" page? I've managed to clean up a huge amount of it (IMO) but there are still articles that I know nothing about and can't clean up properly. Can you help please?
Gwib-(talk)- 12:44, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Ok, sorry I bothered you (by the way, just a quick update. Huji and Phaedriel are both admins and just yesterday we crossed the 16 VG articles mark!). And since when is helping the general population considered to be pathetic? You're as pathetic as Abe Lincoln when he freed the slaves.

World history, again

change

Hello Isis, I am still in the process of writing and expanding World History. I have added a section on the Maya, and am currently in the process of fixing Red links and clarifying/simplifying. This article is problably still far away from being made a very good one; It might also be one of the biggest projects of mine to date. I would be very pleased if you could help, esp. since it was started by you. Please also tell me if I am ruining your idea about a World History article. All the best. Glad to see you back --Eptalon 14:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
