Notice
You may wish to see this, this and this. Best, and happy new year, Normandy 00:11, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up; in the interests of keeping things all in one place, I'll place my response on the thread that has been started at AN. Happy New Year! Goblin 05:18, 1 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Gordonrox24!
Hyphens vs dash
I asked for guidance before I named an article. The consensus was to use an hyphen. So, I have implemented the change and created the article with a name that has a hyphen. The links will not turn blue unless they match the final name used in the article. So, I believe that I am acting within policy. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 16:03, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- Please see my comments at WP:ST, as I linked to in my message to you and asked you to read. You cannot gather a consensus in less than 24 hours, and, as I said there, furthermore should not be closing such a discussion any sooner than a week to allow all who wish to comment, to comment. This is not acting within policy, and, as I mentioned, I will not hesitate to report you if you continue. Finally, please note my talk page conventions - if I leave you a message, I'll watch for a reply on your talk page, though, as you've brought it here, my replies will now be here in the interests of keeping any discussion in the same place. Goblin 16:06, 1 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton!
- Just noting here too that I misread the initial discussion on this, and misunderstood the reasoning behind it. Oops. Apologies to Racepacket! Goblin 18:39, 1 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Pmlineditor!
Big Airport Weekend
Do you strongly object to January 13-16. Personally, I will be on travel at a conference January 27-30. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 03:24, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I don't "strongly" object, no, but I think it's far too soon as it leaves us little over a week to publicise this. Previous Weekends have had at least a couple of weeks, and I'd like to keep that. As an aside, it's also my birthday weekend, so I know for certain that I won't be able to contribute as I won't be in a lucid state for the large majority of it! Ultimately, up to the community though - the other argument of course is that we alter it to February. Goblin 03:27, 3 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Barras!
- Let us compromise on Jan. 20-23. Racepacket (talk) 04:29, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Revision of Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
Please do as stated above, because I have improved the article quite a bit (categorized, red links, "criticaly aclaimed"...) As stated in Requirements for very good articles, 1 or more editors have to do a revision of the article (fix the minor flaws), so I hope You do so... - All the Best! --7arazred (talk) 18:21, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- The article is far from the stage where additional editors come in and make some final copyediting. There is a lot wrong with your article, not to mention its complexity. As I mentioned, criteria 4, 5 and 6 all need to be met before the article is suitable, and I doubt that it will be ready for PVGA in the near future. PGA might be worth a shot, but again there's an awful lot of work to be done. Goblin 19:11, 3 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ The Rambling Man!
Adminship...
I've been quite impressed lately with your work. I've seen improvement in the areas cited on your last RFA. I don't think they will recur based on recent and consistent history. I'd like to nominate you, but prior to that, I would like your permission first. Would you be willing to stand? Best, Jon@talk:~$ 05:22, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks! As I briefly mentioned on IRC, this has come as a complete surprise, and I'm slightly taken aback! However, as I mentioned in my last RfA, it wasn't my intention to stand again should that fail, and reneging on that comment isn't something I'm going to do lightly out of respect to both the community and my self-integrity; I feel it may be slightly hypocritical of me to accept something that I've previously publicly claimed I would not do (on numerous occasions; the RfA diff is just the easiest to find!). That said: this was most unexpected, particularly when taken into consideration your previous stances on my RfAs (which I can completely understand, just to note). Bearing this in mind, I am going to give your kind gesture some serious thought over the next couple of days, weighing up all sides before I make a response in the affirmative or negative, if this is ok? As I know I also have a lot of talk page lurkers, I'd also be interested to hear views from the rest of the community on what I should do here; I know it's somewhat unorthodox and against the norm, but likewise I think my position is equally unorthodox - twice gained the mop and twice lost the mop, to sum up to newer lurkers who may not be aware of the full 'backstory' to this. Thanks again, and I'll let you know. Goblin 17:22, 31 December 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Orashmatash!
- Well, my opinion hasn't changed from here. I think you would make a good admin (and was). I'd have offered to nom you but doubt that would actually help in any way, in fact, would result in probably the opposite. Basically, if you decide to accept Jon's offer, I'd support. Normandy 19:20, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- It is completely of for you to wait and respond later. No person can compel you to volunteer any less, more, or differently then you desire. Just do what makes you happy. You have earned my trust back, regardless of what you decide. Jon@talk:~$ 21:31, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Ok, after quite a lot of thought and deliberation (for the benefit of others, John approached me on IRC a few days before this message appeared to ask if I wanted to run, so I've had a little longer than it may seem to actually think through this!), I've decided that I'd like to accept your kind gesture and run for adminship once again. I've weighed up all the arguments I can think of on each side, and decided that it would be the 'right' thing to do, and that now is also the 'right' time. Thanks for your trust and support on this! - My offer still stands if you see it to be the best way forward. Normandy 09:52, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
I want to thank you for your patience. I am reading, but editing and normal browsing for me at the moment is horrible. I'm tethered on the edge protocol, so ugh. If someone writes a nomination statement before I can, I will add too it. If not, I think I can have one out within a couple days time. I have an internet installer coming today, please wish me luck. I'm crossing my fingers there are no wiring issues, et cetera. Jon@talk:~$ 14:50, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Hey
Hey BG, I hope you aren't upset with me still :-) Anyways, as per your recommendations, may I ask you to provide helpful comments to Selena? Thanks, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 01:44, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Not upset with people, there's no point bearing grudges as life's too short! Hope you understand why I get a little worked up though, and please understand that my comments weren't solely aimed at yourself - there's many who make similar mistakes! Nothing wrong with mistakes either, so long as they're learnt from. Anyway, regards the article, I'm a little tied up IRL at the moment, but I'll be sure to take a look in the near future and let you know my thoughts as soon as I can. You should ask around the others, too, just to get as much feedback as possible. :) Best, Goblin 02:43, 3 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Yottie!
- Yeah, it just felt that way 'cause I sincerely did not believe I was doing anything wrong. But I understood you're points. Thanks, I'll be sure to ask more people that you recommended soon. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 02:56, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- No worries at all. I was the same once! It's all a learning process as I say, and ultimately you'll write better articles because of it. Now then, let me see what I can come up with... Goblin 03:22, 3 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Pmlineditor!

Big Airport Weekend - January 20-23
We want to invite you to participate in the Big Airport Weekend on Jan 20-23. (See: WP:Big Weekend) The purpose of this weekend is to improve SEWP's coverage of airports and airport related articles. A few tasks and guidelines:
- Add {{Infobox airport}} to all airport articles
- To improve existing articles and stubs in the Category:Airports including subcategories.
- To add new articles on airports. (Any airport with regular commercial service or where a historic event happened is notable enough for an article.)
- Airports can be civilian, military, and anywhere in the world.
- Add BAW (for Big Airport Weekend) to the edit summaries to help keep track of the changes.
- Please use the {{inuse}} template to avoid edit conflicts with other BAW participants.
Barnstars will be liberally rewarded for your airport efforts. Let me know if you have any questions. Please join us to have fun and to improve SEWP. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 19:21, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
If you are going to revert my change
Could you at least answer my question? Where does one post comments regarding this bot. Thanks. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:18, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- As stated on the page, bug reports should be made at JIRA; anything else can be made either on my talk page or on the bots talk page, though - as ever - the right is reserved to remove anything, which is what I just did. Goblin 08:20, 20 January 2012 (UTC) I ♥ Barras!
- Thanks, was not able to figure out how to make a report at JIRA and your talk page was not linked from the bot in question. Am currently involved with a project to translate articles from English to Simple English and than onto other languages. Not sure why your bot reverted my edit. Victoria line
Hi BG7, I know it isn't your responsibility, but it seems you have the strongest interest in the Victoria line article. A few of the refs need refreshing. I put a note about this and others on Simple Talk. These days I just don't have the time/attention to actually write much until the current school term ends. But it is really easy and mindless to check and see if refs are active on each VGA as it comes around. Not trying to be nit-picky, but I don't want to see any more Proposed Article Deletions and it seems easier to clean things up bit by bit. Any chance you could take a look? Much appreciated, Gotanda (talk) 08:26, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
RFA Template
...I'm sorry to ask this. Do you mind setting up the subpage and then I'll come and write my statement. :) I thank you for your help on it. Best, Jon@talk:~$ 18:08, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
I have written your adminship request. If you still accept, please go there and do so. Then transclude it. Good luck! Jon@talk:~$ 17:32, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
